Italian exhaust specialist SC-Project unveils its lineup for the already famous Yamaha R9. On the menu: two lines (with titanium or carbon fiber mufflers) combining cutting-edge technology and performance, featuring Euro 5+ certification and a radical track-only version.
The demand for controlled performance (Euro 5+)
As environmental standards tighten, SC-Project proves that legality and riding pleasure can go hand in hand. The Italian manufacturer has developed a high-performance stainless steel catalytic converter that strictly complies with the Euro 5+ standard.
In terms of manufacturing, the equipment manufacturer makes no compromises. The design incorporates solutions directly derived from racing:
- Laser cutting and TIG welding;
- CNC-machined titanium clamps;
- High-precision assemblies guaranteed to fit without modification to the original vehicle.

Two mufflers, two philosophies
To complete this homologated line, riders can choose between two of the brand’s flagship models:
- The iconic CR-T: The minimalist choice. With its GP prototype look and honeycomb grille, this silencer (titanium or carbon) prioritizes compactness. It delivers a 1.1 hp gain while producing a deeper sound.
- The versatile SC1-R: A "best-seller" with a more generous volume and an asymmetrical hydroformed tip. Derived from the Superbike, it proves more effective on the dyno with a 3 hp gain and a torque increase of 2.5 Nm at 9,500 rpm.
The Racing Line: The CP3’s fury on the track
For those who trade the road for the stopwatch, SC-Project offers an unhomologated variant. This complete line ditches the catalytic converter in favor of a titanium 3-into-1 manifold.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- Power gain: Up to +7 hp (with CR-T muffler);
- Torque: An increase of 5 Nm at 9,500 rpm;
- Weight: A drastic weight reduction of 4.8 kg compared to the stock part.
Note: While the SC1-R remains reasonable at 101 dB (with a silencer), the CR-T embraces its racing DNA with a sound level of 119 dB, enough to let the Japanese three-cylinder engine sing in all its glory.
