presentation of the CBF 600 S 2010
it's not the clothes that make the man - the CBF 600 S takes up this adage for its first evolution in 2008, 4 years after its first appearance. You'll need a very keen eye to spot the aesthetic differences between 2 vintages: the facelift is very subtle, bordering on the unnoticeable. But underneath, things have changed. The new Hornet's frame and engine are now housed under the tank, in other words, nothing less than the mechanics of the CBR 600 RR '07.
but on both sides, it's hard to tell the 07 from the 08 - only the sides of the fork head have changed. A hollowed-out comma on each side energizes this protective appendage. Apart from that and the turn signals, which have turned white, we've done the trick.
so let's delve into the technical docs to find out what Honda has revised in its medium-displacement roadster for everyone. It needed a modern powertrain to pass Euro 3, a higher level of performance and some weight savings. No problem: the Hornet had already stolen the engine from the 600 CBR; the CBF does the same. The CBF is the lightest and most recent 600 in the Honda range. Even deflated to 78 hp, the boiler should
for the frame, Honda is renewing its confidence in the "mono-backbone" structure that has equipped the CBF 600 and Hornet since their creation. However, for 2008, the frame is no longer made of steel, but of aluminum (as expected, it comes from the '07 Hornet). Stronger and more rigid, it's made up of 3 large castings (steering column, upper frame and swingarm supports) welded together. This simple, lightweight structure integrates the motor as a load-bearing
element in its own right. Suspension remains unchanged, except for the introduction of fork preload adjustment.
The CBF 600's brakes have also evolved. The discs, now fixed with 6 frets, are fitted with standard calipers as standard, but can be assisted by a CBS and ABS system as an option. The ABS/Combined braking version combines the rear brake pedal with the central piston of the right-hand front caliper (which has 3 pistons), to provide optimum distribution of braking force, particularly when the rear brake is used alone and firmly. An integrated delay device ensures that a measured application of the rear brake has little or no effect on the front brake. The other 5 pistons of the front calipers are actuated conventionally by the lever, providing optimum braking power.
The CBF 600's claim to user-friendliness and ease of use continues with a larger 1-liter fuel tank, a revised instrument panel with integrated fuel gauge, a repositioned center stand axle and modified spigot to limit the effort required to place the CBF on its stand, and the clever 3-height adjustable seat and 2-position adjustable windscreen. The HISS key-coded anti-theft device will keep the bike safe in your hands.
A number of options are available to personalize your CBF 600 S '08:
- A 45-liter top case in the same colors as the machine, capable of holding two full-face helmets. Equipped with a passenger backrest and quick-release system, this top case can be easily installed on the package carrier.
- A set of two polyurethane armrests for installation on the top-case to enhance passenger comfort.
- A 35-liter top-case, easily detachable and also available in the same colors as the trim. This top-case can hold a full-face helmet or two jet-type models. It is mounted on an injected plastic support.
- A set of specific side cases in the same colors as the trim. Available in 29 and 33-liter versions.
- A sturdy expandable bag designed to fit the top-case and facilitate luggage transport.

- A practical 13-liter magnetic tank bag. Holds A4-size items.
- AVERTO-type alarm with motion detector, siren and battery backup. Low-power standby mode protects the battery from discharge.
- A light-gray tinted polycarbonate windscreen, designed to cover the CBF600 naked's optics and provide extra protection for the rider at high speeds.
- An adhesive tank protector designed to prevent scratches.
- A set of heated grips with temperature control and battery protection circuit.
- A sturdy U-shaped anti-theft device designed to fit in the compartment under the passenger seat.
- An elastic net to secure luggage when carried on the passenger seat or on the luggage rack.
