presentation of the 125 RAPTOR 2009

does it remind you of the Planet? Of course, it's the same, with a few minor adjustments: the funny chrome exhaust is replaced by a more conventional model, and the little engine cowling has disappeared. But there's nothing to worry about when it comes to riding: the perimeter frame, inverted fork and huge Brembo brake disc are all back. And the 2T engine, packed with watts (unbridled). Was the Planet rigorous and efficient to ride? The Raptor is in the same vein. Pretty, enticing and terribly powerful, the Italian is a machine that loves to be ridden and has a big budget. The machine commands a hefty price tag (albeit one that has recently been significantly reduced), its maintenance must be impeccable, and while its performance is likely to hover around the 500 mark (in full version), its motorization retains all the aura of an Italian powertrain. In terms of class and vigor, it's certainly the best on the market; in terms of reliability, a surprise is never out of the question.

Cagiva Raptor 125
French Dam\'s 89 Model 2005
hello, first of all, I'd like to point out that this bike is exceptional in every sense of the word, with impeccable roadholding (exemplary chassis that's closer to a 600 cm3 roadster than a 125), an engine that's furious when it starts revving up, capable of rivaling with larger displacements (CB 500 and many basic motorcycles) and a braking system with a bite and power out of the norm for a 125 (front brake with a 320 mm disc clamped by a 4-piston Brembo caliper - the same one fitted to its big sister, the Ducati monster) that's capable of stopping the "beast" and its cavalry (and its riders) in their tracks.beast" and its cavalry (31 hp in full). As for suspension, there's nothing to complain about either: the Marzzochi fork does its job very well, neither too soft nor too stiff, and the sachs rear shock absorber is very good too. In short, an exceptional 125 that's closer to a big cube than a traditional 125! you'll just have to have the budget for the rather costly maintenance, and be careful, rigorous and meticulous to look after the rather fragile 2-stroke single-cylinder (I strongly advise you to use Motul or Ipone 100% synthetic oil, for example) if it's abused! it's essential (for future purchasers) to take the time to let the engine warm up before letting it rev up and take on its full power, not to put the handlebars in the corners for too long (risk of tightening...) and therefore avoid freeways, which are clearly not its playground (like most 125s with 2-stroke engines, even with liquid cooling, it heats up a lot). It's a bike made for country roads or winding mountain roads, or at the limit of departmental roads, and above all it's a bike for enthusiasts that needs to be pampered and maintained with care! I was lucky enough to acquire one in 2006, a red and black 2005 model in full (unbridled) with a complete Arrow line, carbon muffler, 34 mm carburetor with large jets. Mine was rated at around 38 hp, and lying down with my head on the handlebars, I managed to reach almost 190 km/h on the odometer, which is quite respectable for a machine of this displacement! a real treat, a light bike that can be placed wherever you want it to be, with incredible cornering angles that can even make your feet chafe, although mine was fitted with Michelin Pilot tires. I've often competed with and even given a hard time to motorcycles of higher displacement, like a friend of mine who owned an unbridled Honda 500 CB making 50hp. He could barely pass me on a country road, where the torque was a little higher than on a 500, but many motorcyclists were surprised to hear a roadster come along with a raging 2-stroke noise, because this little mono-wheeler works very hard!simply put, it's the most powerful 125 on the market, as it uses the same engine and chassis as the sporty Cagiva Mito. All that's missing are the fairings, and we've replaced the straps with flat handlebars that give a more relaxed riding position than the Mito, but with a more forward-leaning stance. The fuel tank is also different, reminiscent of its big sister, the Ducati monstro, which can be tilted to accommodate a jet helmet or an anti-theft device...the only drawbacks to this fabulous bike, though few, are the new price (4999 euros new), the cost of maintenance and parts, and above all the fact that it doesn't have a rev counter or fuel gauge (its direct competitor, the Aprilia Tuono, does), which is really annoying for a bike of its class! and yes, it only has a speedometer with a reserve light, neutral, indicators and headlights! but as for the rest, it's all good, you'll tell me, you can't have everything! but if you want a motorcycle that's a real eye-catcher, that holds up well on the road, that's got great performance, that you can afford and that you can devote the time to maintaining, then this is the bike for you. But you'll have to overlook the non-existent practical aspects, and if you want to ride a duo, you'd be better off with a less exclusive machine, because the Raptor 125 is resolutely sporty !!!! That's all I have to say about this exceptional motorcycle! Rating : 5/5

i bought this bike on June 20, the day G U got my 125 license. On July 16th I left on my motorcycle with my parents, destination: Portugal we went to the big international biker gathering in Faro. 130 km/h on the highway for several hundred kilometers. I had U, it had 2500km, now 2 months later it has 11000..
Very good bike, very well equipped, and above all very reliable, of course at 11000km I redid the segmentation (it's from August 2005)

i've just bought myself a cagiva raptor, this little roadster has been really well designed for beginners. It's clear that when you ride a bike like this, you want to move on to something bigger, but I think you have to get the hang of it and there's plenty to enjoy... Rating : 5/5

i've had a raptor for a short time, it's still being run in ... aesthetics nothing to say, matte black it's magnificent ... my bike is still bridled and the torque and small acceleration are already nice! a great bike! Rating : 5/5
French La MoTaRDe Model 2004
i've had a Raptor since April, and I have to say that Italian bikes aren't that great. They work great, and I've already clocked 170 ;) but as far as reliability is concerned... a few minor problems
- the chain tensioner broke in the middle of acceleration, which led to a little straightaway with the rear wheel locked, but it didn't fall off :D
- now it's leaking, I don't know where from lol
- fuses that blow all the time (but that's bullshit)
and some other crap, but hey, as long as it works... I'm just praying I don't tighten it. Otherwise, to have fun, there's no denying it, it rocks even if I can't wait for the big cube ;)

i've had it since may 2005 it's a delight i swallow all the other 125's even the "aprilla" in fact the big class and the look too powerful, as soon as i'm stopped it's always the same story (c koi, sa pousse, la guelle....)
for the noise pfff quand t a fond t'ecoute pas trop le bruit.

Yes, the only drawback of this bike is that you end up wanting something bigger... but I hear that's the flaw of all bikers...
In any case, for B license holders, it's a must...

French aarbagan Model 2004
I've had a Cagiva raptor since April, and the chassis is nothing to write home about. It's top-of-the-range, with handling that would make even the biggest bikes pale in comparison, and excellent braking. As for the engine, this unbridled machine shows what it's capable of in a short space of time, with top speeds of up to 160km/h. The only drawback is the noise, a cross between a motorcycle and a moped, but it's quickly forgotten in the face of the pleasure you get from riding it. The disadvantage is the rear-view mirrors, which, due to vibrations (normal for a motorcycle like any other), end up loosening and becoming unadjustable after 120km/h. Maintenance-wise, it's a "toy" that needs to be looked after carefully, but like any other motorcycle, you just can't let things take care of themselves. In short, an overall score of 18/20 for me Rating : 5/5

I find this bike really nice! it's quiet for city riding and especially for two people, unlike a sportbike where you're really broke! I'm going to buy one very soon! Rating : 5/5
