the Spanish brand knew how to express its passion in the GP 125 class. But if the category has brought glory and speed to many a young rider, we all know that reasonableness often takes precedence over dreams. With 19 world championship titles to its name, Derbi is a class champion and will be proud of this GPR 125. The latest generation, it has abandoned its hole-in-the-wall motorization for the monopolistic 4-stroke.

an engine that combines a number of advantages: lower fuel consumption, much less pollution, and a less shrill sound for the neighbors. The other side of the coin is the 15 horsepower max. Not enough to make you forget the blood-letting and ardor of the holey cylinder. However, the competition has also adopted this type of engine. Everyone is now on an equal footing. It's enough to accelerate reasonably, have fun, and reach 120 km/h, or even 130 km/h with a little help and optimism.

with its taut design, aggressive fork head with central air intake, under-seat pot, LED taillight, slim white turn indicators and all-digital instrument panel, the GPR is a true sports bike, flattering and enticing. Its front end would even make Japanese bikes of the same class break out in a cold sweat. While the CBR 125 and YZF-R 125 make do with a conventional fork, the Spanish bike takes on the road with a 40 mm inverted model. This is virtually the same diameter as on the first-generation R1. The brakes are no slouch either. With a 300 mm disc clamped by a radial caliper, the rider will have no trouble stopping the momentum of the machine's 120 kilos (3 less than the 2-stroke GPR).

sporty to the core, it features an aluminum perimeter frame and an asymmetrical swingarm in the same metal. The rear shock absorber is anchored directly to the swingarm, without connecting rods; less progressiveness but a sportier feel for the road. This is a machine that promises to be as rigid as it should be. Special mention for the instrument panel, which can display: rpm by bar graph, speed, total and partial trip, clock, stopwatch, shiflight and max speed; all that's missing is a fuel gauge.
Racy, well-equipped and fun to ride, Derbi's GPR 125 makes a strong case for its place among 125 sportbikes.

CODE COULEUR
French LEDAV Model 2009
Hello, I would like to repaint my GPR4S but I can't find the color code (metallic black). if anyone can help me please. thank you. Rating : 4/5
If you don't find this information in the technical documentation (service booklet), you'll have to ask your local Derbi dealer. Rating : 5/5
French rene Model 2014
I'm not familiar with this bike, but I've owned two Terra models originally powered by the same 4-stroke engine, unless I'm mistaken (piaggio?). I thought the bike was great, apart from some minor but not catastrophic finishing details. I think it's the sportiest engine of the 125s, with a torque that you have to wake up over thousands of kms in the mid-range, and a little real power that you find right away at the top of the rev counter, very good for regular vmax performance. The Gpr should be perfect for beginners on a circuit (not very rolling), but less so for everyday driving. Rating : 4/5
petite question..
French azert Model 2014
Bonjour, tout d'abord très bon topic, très complet. I just have a question, the A1 license is limited to 15hp, the derbi gpr 125 4t is it usable with this license (because I saw on another site that this license since the recent reform did not allow to ride sport bikes such as gpr or yamaha)? Rating : 5/5
A lot of optimism to reach 120 km/h (on the speedometer, so in real speed much less...) unless you have the weight and height of a jockey. Don't use it on freeways or main roads, except for suburban routes. Otherwise, a superb little bike (too bad the feel doesn't match the look, but you can ask a 125 cm3 4-stroke 15 hp bike to work miracles) with an excellent chassis. The chain also tends to slacken too quickly Rating : 2/5
French megamick117 Model 2012
it is beautiful, good braking, agile, but the engine leaves something to be desired, performance, up to 70kmh is fine, but after that, it's for 120kmh that you need to be optimistic Rating : 3/5
