presentation of the FTR 1200 S 2020
The approach to a road under tension is different for each manufacturer, each category, each desire. For Indian, it's with the FTR 1200. A little mean, a lot roadster, frankly equivocal and slightly sandblasted, this machine exudes the spirit of US flat-track.
Its modern engine, with 60 mm fuel injection, 4 valves per cylinder, double ACT, liquid cooling and magnesium parts, produces 120 hp and almost 2 mkg of torque. The chassis features a tubular steel trellis frame, 43 mm inverted forks, Brembo 4-piston radial brakes, 320 mm discs and an offset rear shock absorber connecting to a tubular swingarm. This is common to both versions.
The S has understood that it needs to bring a lot of goodies to attract a promising and/or curious public.
So what's in it? A headlamp cowling and a bit of gilding on the fork tubes? Oh, much more. The S really wants to make a statement. It comes in 3 colors, more sophisticated and pleasing than the ubiquitous black of the standard version. Secondly, the color of the suspension lines is not just there to look pretty - it's a sign that the components are better made. Both fork and shock absorber are adjustable in all directions, allowing you to adjust compression, preload and rebound.
Finally, on the electronics front, the FTR 1200 S is getting stronger. In addition to cruise control, it features cornering stability control, traction control, anti-wheeling and three riding modes (Sport - Standard - Rain). The minimalist speedometer of the standard version has been replaced by a 4.3" LCD screen fitted to the Ride Command. Bluetooth-enabled and touch-sensitive, it lets you control a host of functions with a single finger.
More exclusive, more enhanced, more rewarding, the FTR 1200 S is also a motorcycle that doesn't let just anyone get close to it. Unlike the standard version, it cannot be bridled in A2 trim. Note that the Race Replica version benefits from an Akrapovic exhaust system, for an additional 1,300 euros.

Je l\'adore toujour autan.

An American that gives you a smile at a price that doesn't Élitise.
Unlike some competitors.
Well... just the tire mounting needs to be reviewed. Pour encore plus 🙃 de plaisir (sous la pluie).
Indians thank you!

this bike is a real toy that can be ridden in peace, even if a slight twist of the handle lets you know that its preferred terrain is fooling around and doing stupid things.
l\/l'autonomie et effectivement pas grandiose 233 km en roulant peinard en n'y va plus franchement 200 km pas plus et encore mais bon quel plaisir .
the engine sings and the banana under my helmet reminds me how much I made the right choice to take this wheel.
firstly, there's not one on every street corner, and secondly, life on board is great. It's got a hell of a face, it's playful, and despite the original pot, not too disgusting (arguably, there's better, but there's much worse)
for me, the big Default is really the position of the ignition key, what a stupid thing to have put it right under the handlebars, and the heat from the engine, and yes, you could call this bike a little barbecue for Rouston, but it's bearable when you're riding.
despite the really nice finish, there are a few plastic parts that look really bad (radiator protector/chain protector) and, of course, the original tires, which I really don't think are top-notch (personally, I'm not a fan of Dunlop tires, let alone flat track style tires, but they're easy to change for pirelli scorpion 2 or metezeler tourance or avon trailrider)
in short, on the road, she'll give you a real kick in the ass, and she loves it!
which is a nice change from the usual American philosophy
anyway, I'm going back to play with my beauty
