With the year 2000 well and truly behind us, Kawasaki's trail range saw the gradual disappearance of the KLE 500 and KLR 650. The manufacturer took advantage of the success of its 650 ER-6n roadster to offer a very attractive mid-size trail bike, the 650 Versys. A real little Swiss Army knife, its only challenge was its very distinctive face. The lines were modernized a little in 2010, then the Versys quietly unfolded over the next 5 years. This category is not subject to a frenzy of evolution. In 2015, the Ninja H2 R shakes up the rules of power and speed. Kawasaki's image benefits, and the faces of certain models become bolder. Versys included, opting for a much more dynamic and expressive face. The 650's comfort, power and willingness to go on the road are all enhanced. It will remain self-assured until 2021, although the Suzuki 650 V-Strom and Yamaha 700 Tracer will be there to crunch its wheels. In 2022, a small facelift and electronic upgrade. A TFT screen and traction control will be installed on board.
