from 2000 to 2026Honda Transalp - a trail with extreme versatility

along with the Africa Twin, the Transalp is one of Honda's most famous trail bikes. The first model came out in 1987, powered by a 50-hp, 583 cm3 twin-cylinder engine. With its fairing, the Transalp was immediately more road-oriented than the XT or DR of the time.

the XL600V underwent several small improvements until its complete overhaul in 2000, when it became the 650 (where our database begins). Its look became much more dynamic, and its engine gained 64 cm3. Horsepower rises to 55.

2008 sees the arrival of the 700 version of the Transalp. The styling becomes more adventurous, while the engine block gains a further 37 cm3 and 5 hp. However, the Transalp is increasingly road-oriented, with the front wheel reduced from 21 to 19 inches.

after the 700 series, the Transalp disappeared for another decade. The NC 700 / 750 X was a replacement, but failed to take up the torch. 2023 saw the return of this trail bike with a much more powerful engine (92 hp). The twin and frame come from the 750 Hornet, as do the electronics (traction and engine brake control, disconnectable ABS, 5 riding modes, TFT color display, shifter).
