from 2014 to 2027Superleggera - Ducati Beyond Limits.

The Ducati Superleggera line is a family that is both highly exclusive and very limited, built on an unwavering pursuit of minimal weight and insane power.

The first version debuted in 2014. Its large twin-cylinder engine, derived from the 1199 Panigale sports bike, was extensively optimized to produce 200 horsepower. With its carbon fiber fairing and rear subframe, magnesium frame, and lightweight components, the bike weighs just 155 kg dry.

Three years later, a 1299 version appeared with significantly more carbon fiber components, including the main elements: the frame, swingarm, and wheels. The weight increased to 156 kg due to the heavy Euro4 exhausts. The 1285 cc engine boosted power to 215 horsepower.

The third version of the Superleggera marks a complete generational shift for the bike, much like the Panigale V4 did. More powerful and more extreme, the Superleggera V4 features a reduced displacement (998 cc) but delivers increased power at 224 horsepower. Heavily influenced by aerodynamics, it is equipped with massive carbon winglets. As with the 1299, this material is used for the frame, wheels, fairing, rear swingarm, and a whole host of other parts. It gains a few pounds but remains lightweight at 159 kg.

It’s in 2027 that the Superleggera takes another leap forward. Not in design—which is more restrained than its predecessor’s—but in technology. Even more exclusivity this time, with carbon fork tubes and brake discs. Called the Superleggera V4 Centenario, it takes the engine from the Panigale V4 R, which it boosts to 1,103 cc to produce 228 horsepower. The weight is now 173 kg ready to ride but without fuel.

All Superleggera models come with a racing kit that allows for further power gains and weight reduction.
