Location

balkan is Bulgaria's very first motorcycle manufacturer.
Based in Lovech, Balkan produced several models of different displacements (50, 75 and 250cm3) from 1957 onwards.
Its first model, the Balkan M-1 with its single-cylinder 250cm3 engine developing 12.5hp, came out in 1957, and is reminiscent in its technology of the most popular Jawa models.

From 1960, the brand also produced 50cm3 mopeds.
