The Torrot brand

the '40s

the Torrot story began in 1948 in the Spanish city of Vitoria, when Don Luis Iriondo started manufacturing robust touring and racing bikes.

the '50s

don Luis concludes a manufacturing license agreement for mopeds and motorcycles with the famous French Dijon brand "Terrot", creating Terrot S.A.E.

the 60s

after only two years of operation, Peugeot stopped production under the Terrot brand, leaving the company without rights. However, Don Luis, stubborn and unwilling to give up the adventure, decided to change the company's name from "e" to "o" to maintain production of his "light" mopeds and motorcycles under his own brand. Thus was born the Torrot brand: thanks to one man's tenacity and passion for motorcycles.

the 70s and 80s

this is Torrot's golden age. Don Luis's motorcycles became a cult in a short space of time. They have a reputation for being indestructible, and bring many innovations such as the retractable kickstand or the upward-curving exhaust. Don Luis forges a new alliance with Sachs, using their engines to produce the famous Mustang and TT motorcycles.
Torrot also begins manufacturing bicycles, including the famous "azure blue" Cross MX, considered the forerunner of today's mountain bikes.

the 90s

unfortunately, like many other Spanish manufacturers, Torrot didn't survive the turbulent 90s either.

2011

thanks to visionary investors, the Torrot myth is reborn!

the aim remains the same: to design practical, robust means of transport that make people's lives easier and more fun. Nevertheless, Torrot's new vehicles have been imagined from the outset with the sustainable mobility of the future in mind: electric mobility.

today, the new Torrot represents both connected mobility and a whole new generation of electric vehicles.
