France once again asserted its dominance on the international Supermotard scene by winning a 13ᵉ world title at the Supermoto des Nations, contested last weekend on the Carole circuit (93).
Supermoto des Nations 2024: Ten in a row!
The Senior team, made up of Thomas Chareyre, Sylvain Bidard and young prodigy Steve Bonnal, claimed a 10ᵉ consecutive victory, consolidating its status as a benchmark in the discipline. A discipline still in its infancy, having seen the light of day in 2006. Thomas Chareyre, eight-time world champion, and his teammates shone throughout the event. Chareyre finished 4ᵉ and 3ᵉ of his races, while Steve Bonnal, at just 22 and in his second selection, impressed by finishing 2ᵉ and then 3ᵉ. Sylvain Bidard, thanks to a solid race strategy, secured regular 6ᵉˢ places. The Fédération Française de Motocyclisme supported them throughout the week.

In the Junior class, France was also crowned champion, winning its second consecutive title. Alexis Hoareau and Tom Bessières were the mainstays of this victory, with several first places in their races. Despite an injury in qualifying, Tim Szalai pulled out all the stops and contributed to this success. Following in the footsteps of their elders, the Bleuets also beat Germany, then Belgium, confirming their supremacy in the U23 category.
Sébastien Poirier, President of the French Motorcycling Federation
It was a superb edition of the Supermoto des Nations at Carole, the fourth in the circuit's history. In front of a capacity crowd, our French teams once again triumphed in their category, making our nation a benchmark in the discipline. As usual, the Fédération Française de Motocross deployed a structure to match its ambitions, with top-quality federal supervision.
The President of the Fédération Française de Motocyclisme (French Motorcycling Federation) was delighted with the results, which led to a historic double. He also praised the professionalism and longevity of Thomas Chareyre and Sylvain Bidard, as well as the promising new generation represented by Bonnal and the Juniors. The French teams will defend their titles next year in the Czech Republic.
These national successes will be followed by others, starting this weekend with the MXDN' Motocross of Nations.
