Dakar 2025 Motos, stage 11: final efforts required!

The 47ᵉ edition of the Dakar 2025 is drawing to a close, and Stage 11 is sure to leave its mark, despite a reduction in its route to 152 kilometers, due to thick fog delaying starts.

Dakar Motos 2025: Schareina shines, Sanders stalls

Tosha Schareina (Honda) made the most of the tracks left by her rivals on a terrain combining technical dunes and sand as far as the eye could see. This success confirms his current form, bringing him closer (in statistics but far from in reality) to the Australian leader Daniel Sanders. The latter, true to his cautious strategy, limited the risks by conceding six minutes to Schareina, while maintaining a comfortable nine-minute lead overall. With just 60 kilometers of special stages to go on the final leg, the title now seems within his grasp, barring any major unforeseen events.

Adrien Van Beveren: efforts and no regrets?

As Adrien Van Beveren (Honda) suspected,"on paper, it was difficult", but nothing ventured, nothing gained... The native of Racquinghem (62 - Pas-de-Calais), third of the day, fought hard despite a day marked by technical challenges. "I hit it really hard! I crashed my muffler and lost power on the bike, but I managed it," he confided. If the attack error remains a shadow over the picture, "AVB" has nevertheless maintained his position on the provisional podium, 15 minutes and 50 seconds behind the leader, but above all 6 minutes 26 ahead of Benavides.

Dakar Rally 2025: yours, mine, yours.

Dominant and beaten on the post, such is the merciless law of the Dakar and of sport in general, suffered by Henk Lategan. After ceding his leadership for 24 hours, the Toyota driver regained the lead at the end of the 10ᵉ stage's 120 kilometers of sand. This time, the crown should not escape Yazeed al-Rajhi. With a lead of 6 minutes and 11 seconds going into the final 61-kilometer stage on Friday, the Saudi is in a good position to finally claim his first Dakar victory, after finishing 3ᵉ in 2022, 4ᵉ in 2020, and retiring on the 6ᵉ stage last year.

For his part, Nasser al-Attiyah (Dacia), although he made a fine comeback to finish 2ᵉ of the stage, would have to be content with 4ᵉ place overall, having lost ground on the previous stage. Victory of the day went to the no less deserving Mattias Ekström, who gave Ford its second stage win this year. Ekström, 2nd on two occasions (prologue and stage 6) since the start of the Dakar, is now hoping to secure a place on the final podium.
