The MotoGP 2025 season kicked off with great fanfare this weekend, with the official presentation of the championship in Bangkok, preceded by a series of instructive winter tests. With ambition, excitement and the unexpected, the paddock is gearing up for what promises to be a thrilling year.
MotoGP 2025 season: spectacular presentation in Bangkok
On February 9, 2025, MotoGP took over the Thai capital for an official ceremony at the One Bangkok complex, bringing together riders, teams and fans. The event was an opportunity for the teams to display their new livery and reaffirm their ambitions for the coming season. The official Ducati duo, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, were particularly popular, as they interacted with the public and made numerous gestures of closeness.
Marc Marquez on the excitement in Thailand:
It's incredible to see the passion for MotoGP in Thailand. Every year it gets bigger and bigger! The event was simply amazing.
Another highlight of the evening was the roar of the MotoGP prototypes' engines, which echoed through the city.

As tradition dictates, the riders posed together on their machines to immortalize the moment. Jorge Martin, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Raúl Fernández were unable to take part, as they were all injured during the Sepang tests.
Winter testing: what can we learn from Sepang?
While the first test runs in Malaysia brought optimism for some, they also left a bitter taste in the mouths of others.
Encouraging progress...
Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who rounded off the Sepang tour with a 3rd-place finish, was satisfied with the progress made by his M1, but remains cautious: "We had a good test, but now we have to prove it in the race."
At Ducati, Marc Márquez was congratulated by Michele Masini on his rapid adaptation: "We want to finish the preseason with the best possible set-up. We know we have the best bike on the grid."
... but a heavy toll for Aprilia
The first day of testing was marked by two severe crashes, forcing Aprilia to lose two of its four riders.
- Jorge Martín (Aprilia Factory) was the hardest hit, suffering multiple fractures to his hand and foot. He had to be rushed to hospital before returning to Europe for surgery.
- Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Racing) fractured a metacarpal and also had to undergo surgery.
This double loss represents a major blow for Aprilia, particularly in view of the key role Martín was to play in the development of the RS-GP25, but "the Martinator always comes back stronger!". Aprilia Motorsport boss Massimo Rivola also cleared him of any wrongdoing: "Jorge didn't make any mistakes and there was nothing wrong with the bike."
The reigning champion will not be able to take part in this week's tests in Buriram... We look forward to seeing him again on February 28, for the first race of the year!
