Zero Motorcycles, the American pioneer of electric motorcycles, announces an ambitious strategy for 2025-2026. The brand plans to expand its dealer network in Europe, notably in France, while launching a range of more accessible models. This initiative aims to democratize electric motorcycles by offering six new machines under the 10,000 euro mark.
Zero Motorcycles accelerates expansion with new models and more dealerships
In an electric motorcycle market still in search of maturity, Zero Motorcycles is taking a two-pronged approach: strengthening its presence in Europe, as well as in Africa and the Middle East, and broadening its offering with more affordable models. The brand has also announced the expansion of its dealership network, with the aim of reaching a wider public and facilitating access to its prototypes. This episode follows Zero's record-breaking fund-raising campaign last October.
"We're convinced that now is the ideal time to strengthen our dealer network in France and Europe," explains Umberto Uccelli, Zero Motorcycles' Vice President and Managing Director EMEA.
This initiative is accompanied by the All Access program, which will introduce six new motorcycles. The first two models in this range, the XB and XE, were already unveiled at the last EICMA show in Milan in November 2024, marking a break with Zero's traditional high-end positioning.
A well-defined vision in a fast-changing electric market
While the electrification of two-wheelers is progressing, it is still held back by the high cost of models and a developing recharging infrastructure. The recent bankruptcy of Italian manufacturer Energica underlines the challenges facing the sector, leaving Zero Motorcycles and LiveWire (Harley-Davidson) as the main players dedicated exclusively to electric motorcycles.
"The transition to electric is not going as fast as we thought, but we remain optimistic," concedes Uccelli.
Proof of its dedication, the brand was recently awarded the Trophée de la Moto 2025.
A bet on the future
Zero plans a sustained launch schedule, with at least two new models added each year between 2024 and 2026. The aim is clear: to offer consumers a viable alternative to combustion-powered motorcycles, without compromising on performance or range.
In 2024, Zero Motorcycles registered 383 motorcycles in France, a still modest figure, but one that could grow thanks to this new strategy focused on Europe. The manufacturer hopes that its new models, coupled with government incentives for sustainable mobility, will accelerate the adoption of electric motorcycles and "consolidate its leadership position".
In any case, the expansion of the dealer network and the launch of a more accessible range are strong signals from Zero Motorcycles.
