presentation of the FZ6 600 2004

streetbikes are all the rage. Hornet, Z 1000 and 750, SV, monster, people want roadsters, and sales figures prove it. In the medium-displacement category, Yam leads the way with the Fazer. The wind seems to be blowing, and the manufacturer seems determined to fill its sail. For 2004, it presents the new 600 Fazer, available in 2 versions: S with a fork head and N. For those brave enough to read the Fazer S article to see the changes made to the 2004 version, just click here. Otherwise, here's a summary: new seamless cast-aluminum frame, fuel-injected engine derived from the R6, new fuel tank, under-seat exhausts, 180 rear tire, new all-digital instrument panel. The Naked version is distinguished by its absence of fork head, its meaner appearance, and its highly distinctive headlight, somewhat reminiscent of that on the MV-Agusta Brutale. The handlebars are wider than on the S, reinforcing the "street attitude". The overall effect is particularly well executed, and we can't wait to discover it devouringthe tarmac.

no fear for her. Even before offering itself to the driver, it has already seduced him more than enough. This Yam has that little something extra that draws you to it, arousing desire, guiding the key to the ignition switch. The supple engine (strictly identical to the streamlined Fazer) retains the temperament of its hypersport cousin. A small ounce of torque enables it to offer a little more than the R6 in the low to mid-range, but it remains hollow. The mechanics only really reveal themselves in the last third of the rev counter. It's in this zone that you get the most pleasure. The boiler grows impatient. Its sound evolves with the melodies. At low revs, its vocals express themselves in a pleasantly cavernous sound. As revs rise, a few vibrations set in but don't really disturb, and the engine starts to push quietly at around 4,000 rpm, mewing at around 6,000... At 8,000 rpm, the fiery watts turn the road into a rider's playground. It's a serious blast all the way to the red zone, with a howl that reminds you that you've got the mill of a pistarde between your legs. The tone climbs, the turns follow, the FZ6 plays with you. The front end guides the machine rigorously, with lightness and ease. With its well-balanced suspension, the new Yam roadster handles like a dream. A beautiful, safe and efficient machine. The match promises to be tight against the Kawa Z 750, which benefits from much more torque thanks to its displacement. The green one teases with a more "tuning" touch. After all, tastes and colors are everyone's business.

I haven't started my motorcycle lessons yet and I've never ridden a motorcycle as such, someone offers to buy me his 2006 FZ6. I sit on the bike, barely touching the ground. I really like the fact that it stands up almost by itself. The seller told me he could lower it. Is this a good bike for me?

Thanks for your advice

since 2006 i've had mine, regular maintenance otherwise never put a seine on it except for modification, which by the way has several possibilities. in short i think this model is too powerful for someone just starting out. sorry, that's my opinion. Rating : 5/5

Owner of a 2004 FZ6 N since January 2014, very satisfied novice biker (license December 2013) I was looking for a versatile bike and this bike has all the qualities required, flexible at the bottom it hides its game well but once arrived at 8000 rpm it unlocks. My girlfriend has a hard time behind me, even though I have a comfortable saddle, riding two-up is not her primary mission.
Nice looking, I'd recommend it if you're a gamer or cool on the road. Not too expensive either to buy used, or to maintain, and doesn't consume too much if you don't ride hard all the time.

hello to all bikers; my story is that I was riding a Triumph t595i 97. I got rid of it, and I haven't regretted it. And I bought the fz6 N 98CV, it's a treat. just to tell you that I put the parts and tweaked a little. that's what I had to do. I would not say because it's not legal vis-a-vis the law; thank you Rating : 5/5

Hello everyone, I own a FZ6 600 from 2005, I need to change the neiman kit and I found some on the net, but the serial number of the CDI box is never the same, does the REF have to be identical to mine for it to work? or then all CDI boxes of this model are adaptable?
i look forward to hearing from you!

i've had this bike for three years, bought it new in 2005, and it's been a joy to ride. The seat is comfortable when you buy it, and the acceleration is worthy of an r6, which goes past 8000rpm. Maintenance is more than reasonable compared to my bandit. Top speed is 240km/h. Fuel consumption is 310km with a full tank when riding cool. 260km when riding sporty. What can I say if I don't yet know which bike will replace it? The only flaw is a lack of torque below 6000rpm, which is normal for a 600 Rating : 5/5

I've had a fz6 n for a year now and I'm very happy with it, smooth at low revs after 8000 revs, racy and sharp right up to the red zone, while remaining stable, aesthetically pleasing and great sounding, nothing to envy to the hornet! Bonne route à tous! Rating : 5/5

Hi everyone,
happy owner of a 2004 FZ6 naked as my first bike, I have to admit that it's a very good machine (with the little hindsight I have as a novice). A very playful engine above 8000rpm, and a very healthy chassis. In short, a very sound bike for the (cautious) beginner who wants to ride alone or with a partner of 2. The only downside: the seat cuts into your ass pretty quickly! It'll be on sale in the spring, so take note... A+

following the comparison, i can't help but give my opinion as i've just switched from a Z750 to an FZ6. one year each. I loved my mini z, but I've fallen in love with my FZ6. the difference is the engine and the lines. the FZ6's mill never stops howling, tearing your arms off. You wonder when it's going to stop. It's an extraordinary engine, far more sensational than the mini z's. As for the lines, the z is a fashion (manga) bike that's already outdated (it'll be ugly in no time). the FZ6's cast aluminum frame (pre-2006) follows the engine's shape (never seen on a bike before), the pots under the seat, the pointed headlight: this bike is a goddess with a demonic engine. if you add in the fact that the brakes are far more efficient than those on the mini z (a major weakness) and that maintenance is carried out every 10,000 instead of 6,000, I'd say there's no contest between the two machines... This bike is the bomb. Super responsive and too pretty, it's easy to get up to 200 (I say that for those who like speed)
i say that for those who like speed), but if you're looking for a cushy ride, don't bother, get another one. A tiny flaw at the rear: it's not very comfortable (like all motorcycles), but you get used to it very quickly.

i've had this bike for 5 months, it's my first becane and I'm very happy with it. You get a kick in the ass at around 7,000 rpm and a second at around 10,000 / 11,000 rpm. The only minor complaint is that the saddle is a bit hard, which is particularly noticeable over long distances. Apart from that, it's all good fun! Bonne route a tous les motards. Rating : 5/5

It's my first ride, I'm just a young chip off the old block (under 21), I ride on closed roads. I get a lot of pleasure out of it! Rather tolerant engine, simply picks up around 3000 rpm, and catapults to 7500/8000 rpm. As for speed, it's not made for that, but in acceleration, sorry. Madame FZ6 arrives and it hurts... At least for a 600. I've got a 2005 gladiator red limited series (boot, fork head + comfort seat) and after many kilometers: TOO GOOD. As a first machine, it's perfect (provided you're not a pincer!). I love this bike!!!!!!! Rating : 5/5

after more than 3,500 km at the wheel, here are a few comments ... the f6 is as pleasant as ever, with a surge in revs that takes you to the ignition without you expecting it... and the absence of a real, readable rev counter is noticeable; as is the hardness of the throttle, which persists despite lubrication etc... on a becan less than two years old...!. on a bike less than 2 years old...! note that the cycle, which is very good on "good asphalt", becomes disjointed as soon as you hit the first bumps with a handlebar start. not to mention the "bum-bum" effect generated by the absence of an amorto transmission rod... for those who would like to fit small blinkers. l.e.d type turn signals (and homologated ones at that...) remember that the reg. control unit will only tolerate them if the warning is bypassed, too bad.last point, I find the footrests a bit low (size 1.70) and think mm a pair of controls set back...otherwise, it's a really good machine that shouldn't be tarnished by a windshield that's not really in the spirit...especially since, for everyday "economical" riding, you just need to use only the first part of the rev counter, which it accepts quite well. Rating : 5/5

It's a hell of a bike, 5000 milestones on the odometer and still the same furious madness to ride it, an accomplished machine both in terms of the mill and the look, but not to be put in all hands, it grows so hairy above 10000 rpm that you can quickly say adios to your little pink dots, on the track it's bliss, the cycle part works wonders, on the other hand when sending the mashed potato the pudding ar does 4000 milestones at most.In short, recommend it to people who want a puppy with a REAL SOUL inside.............GAZ........... I've owned this jewel since the end of August. I just got off a GSXR, but if you want to lower your insurance after a spill, it's better to have a roadster... Surprise, it's a fabulous bike, despite a comfort level that leaves something to be desired because of the seat. It bends and brakes like a queen. Frankly, I can't wait for next year's 150-hp FZ1! Rating : 5/5
French Model 2004
Aahhh the fz6.... I had the opportunity to test it at driving school and then through the trust of a buddy who left his jewelry in my hands and frankly, I think that in roadsters, we reach the top of the basket
Hyperstable, you can angle it to death, it's as cool to drive as it is in the middle of the road..
Positives: Good seating position and stance, clean, crisp acceleration (obviously in the roadster category, because of course, next to an r1, cbr... it's no game)
Negative points: The saddle is, excuse me for saying so, a complete pain in the ass. Filling up the tank without stopping for at least 5 minutes to relieve the rear end shows extraordinary physical stamina. A slightly awkward dip between 5 and 7000 rpm
But generally speaking, this is a bike that I think will give its owner complete satisfaction

this marvel has been mine since the end of 2004..it has almost 5000 km now (I don't ride under water...and god knows if it floated in 2005 lol) and it's always a pleasure to ride it..

i come from a RDLC 350 (which I still have), fully prepared...I've tried other sport bikes, but without any passion, but with the FZ6, I appreciate it...it's a blast from 7-8,000 rpm and it doesn't stop until you reach the ignition switch..

my only complaint is the big hole between 5 and 7,000 rpm...at that point, I admit, it turns into a calf's calf...sometimes annoying.but for the rest...it makes controllable rips, wheeelings on acceleration (maybe a little too high in the revs, by the way...) you can go for a cool ride with just the two of you, or go autistic at full throttle....a true motorcycle as we like them...too bad the seat.....is such a pain in the ass niark

For fans of the R6 character like me (who died last year when a 106 refused me the right of way), for fans of Italian design, for the yahm finish...stop, this machine is made for you. In fact, I've rediscovered the R6 sensations: from 7.8000 onwards, arm wrenching, impeccable braking, structural rigidity... in short, the Hornet has become a tzetzé fly!!! In fact, in a run with no problem, the Fz6 is in front. Compared to the Z750, a little torquey at low speeds (due to displacement), but more feel and less linearity...as soon as the frenzy starts. (weight advantage too) Advantage over the R6, more pick-up at low speeds at 4000. Ideal for stunt riding, and no need to lift on the clutch in 1st gear. On the negative side, and I should have started there: handlebar problems at high speed or under hard acceleration (lack of weight on the front) + Gasoline smell even for the rider (thanks to the two high pots)+ warm seat (the two pots are fine in winter, but in summer?...) Too bad the top speed isn't around 250, that would give you relative confidence on the freeway against a BM trying to compete. Rating : 5/5

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that two weeks ago I rented this bike in Lyon for a ride that a friend of mine was organizing in the rive de gier area, a little ride in the simpatica of the viroles du Pilat, in short. I picked up the bike on a friday evening at 7pm in the 3rd district of Lyon. The first thing that surprised me was the way it looked, for once Yam has taken their fingers out of their asses and made us like Renault...a nice aggressive face, pots under the seat, a light that changes everything we know about motorcycles...a nice aggressive face, pots under the seat, a light that changes everything we know about motorcycles, a turn of the key, a nice hissing sound (the valves), lights that light up all over the place, the rev counter that goes berserk, all in 2 seconds, in short, here I am, pressing the button on the right, and the 4-cylinder starts up without too much fuss, just a Sarkosian roundabout...et me vla parti première chose qui me choque avec ma jolie visiere bleu je ne vois pas le compte tours (trop petit)tout ce que je distingue c'estzt le reflet de mon blouzon petit cout de frein sur les quais et la c'est la kata la roue qui blooque le pneu qui fume et qui pense a ma caution de 9000 ballesbut comme dit l'autre sans maitrise la puissance n'est rien bref j'ai eu du CUL .Here I am on the otoroute and the big blast of gas and 215 Km/h no more for the moment the bike light super easy to handle I go home dear me I put it down and I wait for the next day. 7:30 a.m. with my head in my butt, I'm off to pick up my buddy on a little wheel. We all join up, a good forty or so wheels down, and off we go, kool from the start, tighter afterwards.driving with 2 is easy but as soon as you hit the pedal you quickly feel the low weight taking you enduroing in the pitsthen when you overtake 3 wheelsyou accelerate but not too much because the miss stands up straight and I can tell you that when you don't wait it surprises her bonhomie my balls are packed on my molars but all's well the end of the day is coming I'm getting ready to give the wheel back but not without giving her an old rotten burn and 2 3 very farting breakers hi hi hi. et me revla 7h35 a 55 Km de lyon je devait rendre la moto a 20 h c'est chaud la braize mais fezzzzzzable me vla partis sur l'otoroute et GGGGGGAAAAAAZZZZZZZ 235 a fond les gamelles et la j'ai un peu regretter mon vieux 1100 gsx.....g because my handlebars at these speeds are made of papier macher, it floats in my arms and it's all soft in my fingers. In short, 20 minutes later I was back in 3rd gear, the guy was waiting for me at 7:55am.i gave him the keys, filled up the tank and got back into my Alfa garbage can with a little look of disgust on my face as I left the machine, which really surprised me. So that's my little baffouilles a plus and good luck to everyone (in every sense of the word). FREDODUGOULOT. Rating : 5/5
