presentation of the FZ6 600 FAZER 2004

well, say what you will, but the new Fazer is very, very classy! Yam's engineers have put in a hell of a lot of work to bring us a brand-new bike. Take a look at the new aluminum frame, the R1-infused fork head, the chunky, stylized fuel tank, the under-seat exhausts... and the YAMAHA FZ6 600 FAZERengine, which is the same as on the new R6, but with a few special features: thanks to new manufacturing processes, this block has no cylinder liners, thus improving heat exchange. Compared with the R6, the camshafts and intake ducts are different, with the aim of providing more power and smoothness in the low and mid-range. The Fazer gains fuel injection, now essential to meet pollution standards. The frame also benefits from the latest Yam innovations: using the die-casting process, the frame is both rigid and beautiful, with no welds, and the engineers were able to give it a sculpted shape that proves to be a major asset in the bike's highly polished lines. The chassis has also been improved. The repositioning of the engine has lengthened the swingarm by 70 mm. The caster angle has been reduced to 25° and the caster increased to 97.5 mm. The aim is to offer a machine that's more efficient, easier to handle and as versatile as ever. In addition to the larger swingarm, the rear tire has been beefed up - it's now a 180 - and Yamaha has announced a 10% improvement in traction. The new exhaust system is catalyzed, but more importantly, it's positioned under the seat, lightening the look of the bike, and it's obviously a real eye-catcher! Trunk capacity may be less appreciated. What do you think of the new head? Aggressive to a fault, very close to the R1, it seems more efficient than the old one, a guarantee of protection for the long haul... which theYAMAHA FZ6 600 FAZER tank will shorten, as it loses 3 liters in the change. Let's hope that fuel injection will generously reduce consumption to compensate. On the new Fazer, everything changes, everything, even the instrument panel, which is now entirely digital (goodbye to the little needle that used to climb up to the red zone) - and twin brother of the Kawasaki ZX-6RR. Not quite, because it seems to be of better quality, a little classier, but the resemblance is too striking. For enthusiasts (and I'm one of them), it would fit perfectly into a Star Wars starship... Want some more? The new fork is derived from that of the 1000 Fazer, with an electronic anti-theft device integrated into the key, new R6-type rims and new brakes. The brakes are still 298 mm discs, but the calipers are no longer those of the R1. The redesigned bike is 7 kg lighter. Everything is now in place for the 600 Fazer to be THE big hit of the autumn season; better everywhere, pretty, and doubled up with a Naked version that has little to envy its sister (or is it the other way round?).

Spanish MARK Model 2005
i bought my used yamaha fazer xj6 s1 600cc model 2005 with 67.000 km i took it to my trusted mechanic and he told me it was mechanically in perfect condition, i've had it for a year and it already has 68.000 km and it runs like clockwork, my mechanic told me it's a very reliable bike the best Naked model yamaha has ever made and I can assure you it goes over 220 km per hour, a real missile with a smooth and docile ride. Rating : 5/5
Spanish Model 2004
incredible, the 250 is easy to handle, comfortable, I can take my son on it without any problem. only downside: not enough power for an R6 engine Rating : 5/5

i bought this 2005 fazer 600 with less than 54000km "as a recovery" in August 2022 following an accident with my previous one (pan euro 1300, a car had the good idea to cut me off). it goes very well, a little hollow at the bottom, I haven't tested the very high revs, its only big fault for me is its comfort. But it's a very good machine, reliable and light. Rating : 4/5

Bought in February 2022, it is from 2004, a real treat to drive, a very good seat and good driving position. Very good braking, and what's more, it's economical, allowing me to go 380 km on a full tank. As soon as you hit 10,000 rpm, it's pure bliss. I don't regret my purchase at all Rating : 5/5

after several big bikes yam 750 xs ,yam fj 1100 etc .... and my last one a honda 600 transalp , i have just bought myself the yam fazer 600 fz6s ,what a surprise after a few km test a delight an incredible lightness a suppleness , easy to handle a more than correct braking . in the end an ideal bike for a young retiree Rating : 4/5
French Model 2004
Bought new in 2004, top reliability 82000km! Always started right up, despite one-year breaks for the longest (75000km in 5 years, then 5000km in 10 years).
To get the most out of it, you need to rev it up (600cc between 10 and 14,000 rpm: careful with your license), but it's very supple (4 legs) at the bottom, like a real bike.
Even with 2 people and suitcases, trips go well, but the original shock absorber had to be changed to keep up with overloading (and 78,000km of loyal service).
One tooth less on the sprocket is recommended to gain downforce, but the counter is skewed (more optimistic and... more km).
V to all.

Très bonne moto
French Model 2004
Hello, I bought my 600 Fazer 2003 in June 2018 with 43000 km on the odometer. 9000 km further in 7 months, I'm very happy with it. I wanted a bike to go to work in the city and it's perfect for that. I fitted a 10" high bubble for the short stretches of freeway that I do from time to time. As for reliability, my mechanic lends me one with 95,000 km and maintains one with 125,000 km, which had a big influence on my choice. For the duo, for short outings, it's fine. But I can't see myself going away with a duo for the weekend. The only complaint I have is that, despite several adjustments to the rear shock, I find it very stiff, probably because my old bike was a VFR. I think I'll quickly put a specialist saddle on it. Finally, I think it's a very good bike for its age (15 years), its second-hand price and the use I get out of it. Rating : 4/5

After 30 years without a motorcycle, I got back into it with a 2004 fz6: after 2 weeks of terror at the sight of a totally new and very powerful machine, it's a real treat to ride it now. However, I'm starting to look at the vfr750 rc36 and would like to know why cricri replaced it with a fz6...VVV Rating : 5/5

Extrordinnaire fiabilité -
French Hugues Model 2005
I'm 65 years old. I've owned this bike for 11 years (model 2oo5) and it's still running like clockwork at 75,000 km. No loss of performance. Only intervention: a rear light bulb, a chain quit at 70,000 km. and some brake pads. Super economical with michelins road 2. very pleasant motorcycle on the road because of very good Gt fairing. Not very sensitive to wind. Minor faults: stiff gearbox, spacey comfort (but the shock absorber is original) and an engine that lacks suppleness in duo. You can't have everything. A 600 which, for a few liters of petrol and surprising reliability, propels you well above the speed limit in France, is already a joy to behold.

French Model 2004
Bought second hand in 2015, 2004 model but from 2003 (be careful..change of model), coming from a 1200 FJ I have a vision probably a little different than some. Comfortable, good riding position (neck problem), good braking with abs, perfect for everyday use, super fuel consumption...so range, super reliability for the moment 32,000 KMS, I hardly ever touch it...in short a very good bike but it lacks boot compared to my ex FJ and character! but we forgive it especially considering the price we pay! Moi j'ai eu en 1er moto le fazer 600 année 2000
For me a super machine sober and at the same time dirty kidðŸ˜...😈

And there I admit the evolution is important.
The only downside is the smell of gas on the passenger's clothes after a long ride.

60 years old and 1 meter 67, I bought a 2004 model with 42000 km in June 2015. I've just completed a 2500 km trip in 6 days, with a stopover at Le Castellet to follow the Bol d'Or.
Conclusion: nothing but happiness... Impeccable saddle height, low weight, easy to handle in town and on the route des crêtes between Cassis and La Ciotat, good protection on the freeway. I don't regret my purchase, even though it's an 11-year-old bike.

I agree! It's a great bike, I've had it in the Naked version for 3 years and it's a real pleasure! The only drawback is the sound of the exhaust, but that was quickly solved thanks to the Léo Vince Evo II Carbone;)
This bike allows you to take it easy or just enjoy yourself as soon as you exceed 8,000 rpm.
Reliability-wise, nothing to complain about! I carry out my maintenance as scheduled, and it's clear that nothing wears out: it always starts right up. Handling is impeccable, a must for beginners.

Hello for my opinion, this bike is one of the best for me. There is nothing to say. When I see the critics on the forums, saying that the fz6 is unreliable, it's just the opposite!
But it's people, they have the right to express themselves. Thank you and I look forward to your comments

previous ride: 2000 zx6r, i'm back on a roadster, the 2005 fz6 s
forget the kick in the butt of the kawa, linear acceleration of the yam!
good ride comfort, modern bike, i added an engine cover, a rear wheel washer and a double carbon pot under the seat, not compatible with certain wheel arches
now it looks and sounds great!
weak point: even if the passenger seat is good, the original shock absorber isn't up to scratch, even with adjustments, ask my wheel wiper!
strong point: fuel consumption! 320 km with a full tank, driving "cool" at 110/120 to get to work (70 km a day)
on that note... bon route to all

Hi everyone,
i'm surprised to see no more comments on this model. I've had it for 1 year, the 2006 vintage, and I can tell you that I'm very happy with it. Good power, good looks and a good trip guaranteed. The downside is the comfort of the saddle. Well, I have to say that at 50 years of age, you start to get a bit grumpy!
Have a nice ride.

i've just got my license and bought the fazer 600 S, and it's a real pleasure to ride, with a little getting used to after the 660xtx from the motoecole. as it's still being broken in, i don't pull on it, but you can tell it's got a nervous character, i've taken a comfort seat, and except for the hard-to-chop keel, i can't find any defaults
i have no regrets at all about buying my nervous little 600.

Here we are, at the end of the running-in period, and at last I'm able to open the throttle all the way: and boy, does it push
The chassis is much stiffer than the 2003 model I left at the dealer's, the braking is just as strong but less brutal (but be careful in the wet, it locks up fast), the half fairing protects better, the engine seems more torquey at the bottom (even if that's still a problem on this kind of crime buster), but the seat does suck a lot (there had to be a flaw)
In short, for the moment, nothing but happiness....Aïe!!! I've just sat down!

I came across the Gt version of the 2004 FZ6S, after passing the plateau test
It's been 1? months since I bought it, and I've happily ridden it for 2,600 kilometers. The seat is certainly not comfortable, but it's so easy to ride, it seems to guide me along the road, and not to buy it would have been my greatest regret - no other motorcycle has hooked me like this one, with its low noise level, clear dashboard, great handling and stability that makes you love curves, and we won't talk about power (98hp) ;)

Perfect! Model S from June 2004. With a few accessories (Laser pots and comfort seat, higher bubble, sabot, LED light...), the overall line is refined and comfort improved
It's a pleasure to rev this engine (even more so than the old one), and the chassis is so easy to ride. It even looks like a sports bike without a fairing, with that R1-style front end..
How will they do it better next time?

Small, maneuverable and powerful, it's a hell of a looker; you want to look at it as much as you want to ride it!

A good alternative to the hustle and bustle of road trips!

This bike has it all: comfortable, easy to handle, supple, powerful, top-notch braking...and I was even surprised by the space under the seat: you can fit a U (small model) and a disc lock. Personally, I don't expect much from a motorcycle. Its only real flaw is the seat, which is very uncomfortable on long trips. But then, you have to sell personal seats... Rating : 5/5
