presentation of the Tuono 660 Factory 2023
Aprilia is all about performance. There are hardly any basic and/or all-purpose roadsters, urban trail bikes, retro machines or mock motorcycle schools in the catalog. When you go to Noale, it's to tighten the gloves, not to stroll around with your nose to the wind.
Some models encourage you to raise your game, as if a taste of what's to come would make you want more. That's what Factory models are for. Like the Tuono 660, improved in tactical areas to show extra efficiency. A 100-hp twin for 181 kilos all up front.
The Tuono Factory hasn't really gained 5 horsepower; it's rather recovered them. The twin had been downsized from sport to roadster, mainly to allow A2 clamping. The balance has been restored, the spiritedness improved... and even boosted with a transmission shortened by the adoption of a 16-tooth sprocket. One less than the standard Tuono.
More watts and less weight. The adoption of a lithium battery saves two kilos. Already very light, the bike weighs no more than an MT-03.
It 's the suspension where the gains in efficiency are most noticeable. Both fork and shock absorber are fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound. To keep the price down, Aprilia has retained Kayaba / Sachs and left Öhlins out of the equation. The latter, however, is on the front line with the RSV4 and Tuono 1100 Factory.

The more seasoned Tuono 660 Factory, on the other hand, is more discreet. Black is de rigueur, with just a few scratches of red. A fiercer look would have been welcome. Particularly as the standard version comes in much funnier colors. Gold rims or a big Superpole sticker would have made a difference, but never mind. There's also a seat backrest to make the look more lively. The passenger seat is supplied separately.

After the break-in and with the right weather, go out on the track. It must be a real pleasure. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alexandre
The front brake and the way the Tuono can cope with hard braking are impressive
The engine picks up gently at low revs, then reveals itself at mid-range with a very pleasant sound, before going completely crazy at high revs
The overall look and finish are superb
The price of this bike is questionable, but once you've got it, you'll understand. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Skylake
