- Practical information
gasgas ventures onto asphalt. A major first for the brand, strongly orchestrated by parent company KTM. The new SM 700 is a large-displacement Supermotard that aims to bring pleasure to every daily commute, whatever the destination, and guarantees that riders will always arrive with a smile on their face.
the SM 700 offers top performance, exceptional handling on the road, advanced electronics and aggressive looks. Getting from A to B will be easy, enjoyable and exhilarating; just like with a Husqvana 701 Supermoto or a Katoche 690 SMC R. The three are inbred, but let's not shy away from this discovery.
engine
the 692.7 cm3 engine is fully loaded, with everything it takes to deliver impressive high-volume power and longer service intervals. With an output of 55 kW (74 HP) at 8,000 rpm and 73.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, it has all the power you could wish for
minute, it has all the power needed for street and off-road riding. Weighing in at just 43.4 kg, including electric starter, throttle body, clutch and coolant lines, weight is no problem for this king of single-cylinder, single-overhead-camshaft power.
frame
flexibility. Rigidity. Fun. These are the three words that characterize our in-house trellis frames. Designed to guarantee incredible handling and stability, the SM 700's flexibility ensures a formidable ride in all circumstances. Made of chromium-molybdenum steel for unparalleled strength, precisely calculated torsional rigidity and longitudinal flexibility enable every rider to excel. Robotic welding ensures precision and optimum quality, every time. And the icing on the cake: a weight of just 8.4 kg.
swingarm
no welding, just a beautiful, super-strong cast-steel swingarm, as on all Gasgas models. Made from a single piece of aluminum, and weighing just 3.9 kg, the swingarm on the SM 700 is perfectly flexible for improved handling and power delivery. A WP shock absorber provides the perfect combination for progressive rear damping.
rear loop / tank
to make the most of every ride, the rear loop is equipped with a 13.5-liter fuel tank. Molded from a single piece of ultra-strong polyamide and weighing just 5.2 kg, it's ultra-strong and positioned to keep weight to a minimum, for optimum handling. For the addition of a dedicated mounting frame or passenger grips, everything has already been taken care of.
riding modes
Two riding modes for twice the fun. The mode can be changed even while riding, to adjust power deployment as required. Mode 1 - Street - for precise throttle response, effective cornering ABS and traction control. You could say it's the controlled power mode for the city! Mode 2 - Supermoto - offers more technical riding options, with more aggressive grip response and Supermoto traction control, for Supermoto-style wheel skidding and front-wheel lift. The 2 options deactivate the rear wheel ABS for better response and skidding on tarmac.
quickshifter (+)
as its name suggests, Quickshifter (+) enables smooth gear changes without using theclutch. Two sensors - one to detect the movement of the shifter rod, the other to detect the shifting of the gear - take care of everything, so that the gear always shifts correctly, whatever the power of acceleration. And for smooth downshifting, the system adapts engine speed to the lowest gear.
front suspension
Specially designed for Supermoto mode, the intelligent engineering of the 48 mm WP APEX fork allows adjustment of compression in the left arm and rebound in the right arm. Easy-to-access, hand-adjustable notches make supermoto front-end configuration child's play. Precision engineering, high-quality materials and advanced production processes guarantee high-quality suspension efficiency.
wheels and tires
with a racing-bike look, the 17" wheels are not only racy, but also super-light and ensure optimum handling. And Continental ContiAttack SM EVO tires ensure incredible grip, even at the most extreme lean angles.
brakes
the Brembo Monoblock, radially-mounted, CNC-machined, four-piston front brake caliper grabs the SM 700's 320 mm floating front disc for impressive stopping power. At the rear, the smaller caliper and 240 mm disc add even more power. Bosch ABS systems complete both brakes for added safety and peace of mind.
rear suspension
with every possible setting for optimal suspension configuration, theWP APEX shock absorber provides high and low speed compression adjustment and precise rebound settings. The rear wheel's 240 mm travel provides additional comfort for the SM 700.
