presentation of the CB 125 F 2024

Passionate about performance, watts, stratospheric possibilities and technological overkill, we sometimes forget about simple bikes. The ones that take you through everyday life, work, college or just strolling around those little corners of France. The CBF 125 is one of these. And it's getting a facelift for 2021.

Skin , eyes and heart. It's not just a new look that Honda has given it. As it has to pass Euro5, the manufacturer has taken its little do-it-all roadster in hand and installed a new block. It's not really more powerful, but it's got its own panoply of assets.

This single-cylinder engine differs from the previous generation in several respects: its internal dimensions have changed, with a longer stroke and reduced bore. The result is a slight increase in torque (+0.7 Nm) and a power increase of 0.2 kW. The CBF is thus nicely motorized, in keeping with its vocation. 10.9 horsepower to weave its way between buildings, parks and offices.
Don't go comparing it with a Duke or an MT-125 - it's not the same trip at all.

At first glance, the engine seems to have been reworked, but without any fuss. It still relies on air cooling, 1 ACT and 2 valves per cylinder. Not very modern solutions, except for fuel injection.
But the engine-makers have done a great job, which is not immediately obvious. Honda has tracked down friction at every stage (eSP technologies), installed a starter-alternator and optimized fuel consumption so that, in the end, this CBF consumes 27% less than the one it replaces. The brand claims a thirst for fuel of just 1.54 liters per 100 km. Although the fuel tank has lost 2 liters of capacity, its 11 liters allow 800 km of eco-driving range, or Lille-Bordeaux with a full tank... and a large dose of patience.

Honda CB 125 F 2024 a little proud of its evolution, but above all discreet, the CBF 125 III gets a little grooming. More to refresh than to change. A new face, improved mudguards, more pronounced shoulders with neo-sports-coffee CB inspiration, new mirrors - it captures a breeze of pettiness. Paradoxically, with its tauter lines, the 2015-2020 CBF looks almost more modern.

As a result, it's impossible to tell that it's lost 11 kilos. The mouldbif alone has lost 7 kg. Count 1.5 kg less benzine in the tank, a few handles with the general optimizations, another 1.7 kg on the chassis side, and our 125 CBF drops to 117 kg. Without losing the center stand or passenger handle.

While the single-cradle steel frame is new, the peripherals continue the doctrine of theex-CBF. 17-inch wheels on ultra-slim tires, a slender 31 mm fork, brakes with a combined CBS system controlling a 240 mm disc at the front and its 2-piston caliper + drum at the rear, and a duo of preload-adjustable shock absorbers are its bedfellows. This edition of the CBF should gain in agility thanks to its lower weight and shorter wheelbase. The only increase is in seat height (+15 mm).

A very attentive eye will notice minute changes from 2024 onwards: a shorter pot, a chrome anti-sweat plate and an aluminum passenger handle.

The Honda CBF 125 is all about everyday urban life, with a discreet, clean-cut mouse that has no desire to show off. When it comes to showing off, the family relies on the CB 125 R. But when it comes to utility, the important thing is to improve in a spirit of thriftiness and city living.

Manufacturer recall in the following countries: France, Hungary, Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia.

The internal plates of the headlight structure may resonate due to vibrations from the engine and steering. This can lead to bending at the base of the terminal. Metal wires can fatigue at the root of the terminals, leading to flickering or headlight failure, which can cause an accident.

Same problem with the 2023 CBF125—the lambda sensor keeps acting up. After running it through the diagnostic scanner, it worked for a week, but now it’s starting up again. I can’t take this CRAP anymore. Never buy a CBF125. Rating : 1/5

French Jacouille Model 2023
I bought a CBF 125 three years ago, and I'm not happy with it at all. It started with the timing chain tensioner acting up twice, and then the lambda sensor in the exhaust manifold—280 euros—and after half a day it started up again. It's crap. 114,000 km and everything's falling apart. It's not worth the bikes I had before Rating : 1/5
French Vieuxsioux Model 2025
Yes, it's a fun bike, almost like a toy, or at least a bike with a fuel-efficient engine. It's not all about comfort, though: this bike is pleasant to ride on good roads. As soon as you get onto the bumpy secondary roads (which are becoming increasingly so), you feel like you're sitting on a tree trunk, and your back takes a beating. Personally, I've added an airbag to cushion the impact a little, and the rider's footrests are oversized, making it hard to get your head around them. The gear selector is set too low, and needs to be moved up a notch. Let's talk brakes and tires. The original tires are criminal, there's no other word for it. They have no grip whatsoever. So it's imperative to change them and, above all, to find new ones. I finally found some Metzeler Roadec tires at Honda, and I hope things will improve. With these damned original tires, you have to put weight on the handlebars and the footrest on the inside of the bend. But the apprehension remains. You wonder whether the bike will spin out of control even at low speed. The brakes are ridiculous, and the famous CBS system, supposedly a cheap substitute for ABS, isn't worth much. The front brake has no bite and the rear drum brake lever is ineffective. The little wind hop is useless. It's better to replace it with a Puig. That's another 125 euros. Yes, this bike isn't expensive, but with the tires and the wind hop, it's easily worth another 400 euros. Another curious thing is the new starter, called the starter-alternator: you get the impression that this system lacks power, and yet it starts, which is quite disconcerting. As for speed, on the flat you can manage 85/90, provided you don't have a headwind. I forgot one thing: this bike does have 5 gears, but they're very badly spaced. The first is very short. It's not much use. In the end, you could be happy with 4 or even 3 gears on this machine, because in town you're usually in third/fourth gear, and fifth is for the road. Fifth gear is for the road. A more than mixed assessment. This bike is potentially dangerous because it lacks flexibility. Strangely enough, it's not designed for beginners, but for experienced riders who've seen it all before and know how to adapt to any type of bike. Rating : 2/5

hello, I tried it and bought it, if you want a more reliable bike, you have to get a bigger and more expensive one. I'm satisfied, except for the mirrors, which are a bit short, and yes, the seat is hard Rating : 4/5

4900 km on the cb and a lot of positives, its fuel consumption, its comfort, its ease of handling and easy self-maintenance if you want. On the negative side, the original tires are dangerous when the road is wet, a usb plug and a lap counter are missing on this bike. I don't regret this purchase and I'm looking forward to Honda's replacement Rating : 4/5

Impressive fuel economy and range! I don't think it's ugly either, and the purchase price seems relatively reasonable. A good little SUV! Rating : 4/5
French Model 2024
Having owned this bike since February 2022, and having covered some 14,000km, I can only praise its qualities. It consumes 2l per cent on 70% of country roads and the rest in the city. A quick start, easy to handle, light and easy to maintain, it's just right for my purposes. Too bad there's no USB connection. Rating : 5/5
French Franky Model 2022
Almost 2 years and 14,000km, including 9,000km in 5 months. I love it even though I have a "big cube". Personal record range 854km. I almost always do more than 800km on a full tank and very often average 1.5l/100km on a full tank. In the Jura, 200km at an average of 1.3l/100km in cruising mode. So, that's it. It's my travel bike and the best way to optimize my tax bill! Rating : 1/5
French magicsenna34 Model 2023
Between you and me, it doesn't bother you to see a 125 mono costing almost 20,000 francs screaming along at 110 revs maximum! It's not just that it consumes 2 liters per 100, but if it's going to be shrivelled up by a good old 45-year-old 125 twin that cost 6,300 francs new, you might as well forget it. Seriously, guys, do you realize that you're getting all worked up over an onion that rows and costs an arm and a leg? For the same money, you could find a nice CX500... Rating : 1/5
French pourando
We're talking about a 125, not a cb 500! A 125 has the defects of its qualities... it allows you to discover the world of motorcycling, to ride for cheap, to gain experience... but for all those who are starting to get bored, to complain about the limits imposed by this displacement, quickly, get the large-displacement license and enjoy yourself, it's the normal course of a biker's life... Rating : 5/5
French Frfrde
Today we're looking for economical bikes. I've already had 125 cm sr suz but now it's more than 800 KLM have forgotten to fill up reliably, of course they're disposable bikes, nothing to do with the old ones. Rating : 4/5
French ThomasP
Converting to francs 40 years apart, without taking inflation into account, doesn't mean much. What I see is that today there aren't many utility bikes in Europe (alas) and the CB125F is by far the best quality/price/utility/125 ratio. Yes, you can buy a used 500 for the same price but => big cube license, more expensive insurance, more expensive gas. I've owned this model since April, after 5000km I'm more than satisfied with it, I have a big cube license but I'm pragmatic. The 1.5L/100km are quite attainable, and nothing (apart from my bike) can beat the cost of using this bike. I use it in winter as well as in summer, for short and long trips (in cruising mode on secondary roads), sometimes as a duo, and it doesn't disappoint! It doesn't do 0 to 100 in 4s, but there's no point in running... Rating : 5/5

The 125 twin in 1978 was worth 6300 francs, but converted to 2023, that's... 3875 euros. So, no less expensive than the CBF. Much better performance, of course, but no 5-year warranty. Rating : 5/5
French blaster Model 2023
new bike since january 15, 2023, at the time of writing (09/06/23) with 5000km, 14l fuel tank, 650km range for 13l at 75km/h real (80mph), I've never been able to go faster than 99km/h real (93mph real), light, easy to handle, cheap to buy and maintain, low consso .
personally, the fork is soft and often digs in, but 6mm of extra shim in the fork and it's better. a 250 version or a CB300 twister would have been much better.
Rating : 5/5
French MORTIMER Model 2021
I've had this machine for 5 years and I'm still very happy with my choice
The only small criticism I'd make is about the tires, which I find a little too small, even if the handling isn't affected. Many 49.9 "petrollettes" are better equipped in terms of tire mounting

French Bruno Model 2021
I've had one since December 2021. Fuel consumption is 1.6 in town, peaking at 70km/h for sporty driving. On national roads, driving fast with wind between 85-90 km, we consume 2l, at a very fast pace. Add 0.2 liters for the passenger. Finally, I reached 3 liters over a 100 km round trip, almost always driving above 100 km/h. When the speedometer reads 96km/h, the GPS indicates 90. I don't see myself reselling this one unless I have to. No tax, just the registration. Rating : 5/5
French escogriffe chevelu Model 2021
My bike :)... I love it, I ride 50 km of city and coast with every day 9000 km with bottom of hold since February 2021, and moreover it is nervous for my 80kg and resists well to the falls inflicted by a driving of kamikaze, if it were to be remade I would take it in red Rating : 5/5
French Michka Model 2021
Very good machine: durable, economical and comfortable

I made the round trip from Brunoy to Hossegor in August via the departmental roads. A good day's ride for everyone. Exit the "economical" driving and only 2L/100km !!!

Only downside: starts to vibrate when exceeding 100km/h

How can I say I'll miss it when I pass the A2 and take its big sister...

Excellent bike, very good quality for the price
Super-easy, super-reliable, and very robust in use, including bad handling by beginners

1.5 liters per hundred, that's dreamy, I'd be curious to try this bike on a road trip like crossing France by the secondary roads, I see it as a hybrid between the motorcycle and the moped, and in fact rather than a mini motorcycle, a super moped ;) Rating : 3/5
