presentation of the CB 125 F 2023
Passionate about performance, watts, stratospheric possibilities and technological overkill, we sometimes forget about simple bikes. The ones that take you through everyday life, work, college or just strolling around those little corners of France. The CBF 125 is one of these. And it's getting a facelift for 2021.
Skin , eyes and heart. It's not just a new look that Honda has given it. As it has to pass Euro5, the manufacturer has taken its little do-it-all roadster in hand and installed a new block. It's not really more powerful, but it's got its own panoply of assets.
This single-cylinder engine differs from the previous generation in several respects: its internal dimensions have changed, with a longer stroke and reduced bore. The result is a slight increase in torque (+0.7 Nm) and a power increase of 0.2 kW. The CBF is thus nicely motorized, in keeping with its vocation. 10.9 horsepower to weave its way between buildings, parks and offices.
Don't go comparing it with a Duke or an MT-125 - it's not the same trip at all.
At first glance, the engine seems to have been reworked, but without any fuss. It still relies on air cooling, 1 ACT and 2 valves per cylinder. Not very modern solutions, except for fuel injection.
But the engine-makers have done a great job, which is not immediately obvious. Honda has tracked down friction at every stage (eSP technologies), installed a starter-alternator and optimized fuel consumption, so that in the end, this CBF consumes 27% less than the one it replaces. The brand claims a thirst for fuel of just 1.54 liters per 100 km. Although the fuel tank has lost 2 liters of capacity, its 11 liters allow 800 km of eco-driving range, or Lille-Bordeaux with a full tank... and a large dose of patience.

As a result, it's impossible to tell that it's lost 11 kilos. The mouldbif alone has lost 7 kg. Count 1.5 kg less benzine in the tank, a few handles with the general optimizations, another 1.7 kg on the chassis side, and our 125 CBF drops to 117 kg. Without losing the center stand or passenger handle.
While the single-cradle steel frame is new, the peripherals continue the doctrine of theex-CBF. 17-inch wheels on ultra-slim tires, a slender 31 mm fork, brakes with a combined CBS system controlling a 240 mm disc at the front and its 2-piston caliper + drum at the rear, and a duo of preload-adjustable shock absorbers are its bedfellows. This edition of the CBF should gain in agility thanks to its lower weight and shorter wheelbase. The only increase is in seat height (+15 mm).
The Honda CBF 125 is for everyday urban riding, with a discreet, clean-cut mouse that has no desire to show off. When it comes to showing off, the family relies on the CB 125 R. But when it comes to utility, the important thing is to improve in a spirit of thriftiness and city living.

Maintenance
The internal plates of the headlight structure may resonate due to vibrations from the engine and steering. This can lead to bending at the base of the terminal. Metal wires can fatigue at the root of the terminals, leading to flickering or headlight failure, which can cause an accident.

personally, the fork is soft and often digs in, but 6mm of extra shim in the fork and it's better. a 250 version or a CB300 twister would have been much better. Rating : 5/5 Respond to blaster
The only small criticism I'd make is about the tires, which I find a little too small, even if the handling isn't affected. Many 49.9 "petrollettes" are better equipped in terms of tire mounting Rating : 5/5 Respond to MORTIMER
I made the round trip from Brunoy to Hossegor in August via the departmental roads. A good day's ride for everyone. Exit the "economical" driving and only 2L/100km !!!
Only downside: starts to vibrate when exceeding 100km/h
How can I say I'll miss it when I pass the A2 and take its big sister... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Michka
Super-easy, super-reliable, and very robust in use, including bad handling by beginners Rating : 5/5 Respond to Orion
