presentation of the CRF 300 L 2025

it 's probably one of the most discreet trail bikes in production, yet one of the most interesting for no-nonsense, no-holds-barred touring. The CRF 300 L keeps its place on the market with a few changes: the switch to Euro5+, improved hot-air evacuation, slimmer LED indicators, a redesigned headlamp (also LED) and new suspension settings for greater stability and comfort.

The 286 cm3 single-cylinder engine makes this a very pleasant little trail bike, halfway between a road trail bike and a real enduro motorcycle. Apart from the changeover to the new standards, the liquid-cooled block remains unchanged, with twin overhead camshafts and four valves. With its super-square ribs and 10.7:1 compression ratio, it delivers 27.3 hp at 8,500 rpm. Maximum torque is 2.7 mkg at 6,500 rpm. Nothing to get carried away with, just an unrestrained use of power that's always manageable.

Although it's very much based on the 250 of the previous decade, the CRF 300 L not only offers a little more on the engine side, it also offers a little less on the scales. It benefits from its new single-split steel cradle frame and tapered aluminum swingarm, and weighs 4 kg less than the CRF 250 L.

Its dynamism is also underpinned by a gearbox in which the first five gears are short for greater gniack. The sixth gear is designed more as an overdrive, for more fuel-efficient riding on the road. The CRF 300 L now also features a limited-slip clutch.

As for the chassis, it benefits from longer-travel suspension: 260 mm at both front and rear. Ground clearance is generous at 285 mm, allowing the rider to venture all over the place and overcome obstacles of a certain level.

The seat height is consistent, peaking at 880 mm. With off-roading in mind, the 300 L's ergonomic riding position has been designed for ease of use and versatility. The slim, lightweight 7.8-liter fuel tank has been designed with this in mind. And the position of the footrests has been calibrated for greater ease when shifting gears with heavy off-road boots.

As for suspension, this little Honda is equipped with Showa components, including a 43 mm inverted fork and a monotube monoshock attached to the brand's famous Pro-Link system. While the CRF 300 L has real off-road potential, it cannot do without ABS, which is compulsory for all road-approved motorcycles. However, it can only be disconnected at the rear. Braking is by single discs, front and rear, with diameters of 256 mm and 220 mm respectively.

Honda CRF 300 L 2025

The CRF 300 L is equipped with an LCD display providing all the necessary information, as well as an engaged gear indicator.

Worthy heir to the legendary Honda 250 XLS of the 1970s, this CRF 300 L has been intelligently improved. Good news: the Rally version is back in the catalog.

Let's not get carried away. Priced at just over €6,000, this CRF 300 L has everything you need to enjoy off-roading with ease.

Bonne moto
French Rene Model 2024
Hello, 5 stars because I have the first generation which is already worth four! For my part, at 62 I asked to soften the suspension as much as possible, and the result is better for trail and road use, the fork has lowered slightly and is more homogeneous on the road in the end and especially comfortable, if so! It will remain an excellent trail ... I strongly recommend as an alternative to the scooter also very practical, but it holds the comparison without problem. I've been neglecting my Vfr more since I got the Crf. Rating : 5/5
French Adam Model 2023
I bought one of the 300 crfl's only rivals, the voge 300 rally, with almost the same performance and weight, a little cheaper and a little better equipped. I haven't regretted it in 1 year and firm up the suspension for the rest you need to know what you're buying and for the price it's reasonable and then there were no other options apart from these 2 brands after seeing the tests I went for the one that was available where I live, i.e. in Morocco, as the Honda was unavailable Rating : 4/5
French vince Model 2023
I've got a sporty rsv 1000 and a BMW f900r and I'd like to do a bit of trail riding, see TT without any pretensions, and I think this bike offers just that. it consumes nothing, has no insurance, is easy to maintain and always runs. that's how I see it and that's how I think it should be, simple, humble, fun, efficient and versatile.
i'm 62 years old and this machine reminds me a little of the TT trail bikes I used to see riding 50 years ago, when people weren't so picky. It's a bike for having fun and thinking you're a TT rider....and that's great, but when it comes to riding on the road, I remember my mates who rode a 125 and who went down to the south of France (north), we didn't ask ourselves the question, so a bike like this, of course you can ride it on the road as well

French Régis Model 2022
I've just ordered one! So yes, on paper it looks a bit flimsy on the engine side, but my aim is to cover as much of the TET as possible. I'm sure it will fit in perfectly with its role as an easy, solid, puncture-proof machine that costs nothing. HONDA is concrete with a 5-year warranty! I can't wait to receive it. Rating : 5/5
French JMF
It's a marvel. I've had the Honda CRF 300LA for 15 days. I can assure you, it's got tremendous power! A very long sixth gear and short ratios up to 5. It's very well finished, magnificent and looks great! Still breaking in the brakes.
A great buy!

The same in supermotard with a tank of 10 l mini and it will make a hit. Rating : 3/5
super moto
it's a really nice little trail bike, it goes everywhere, it's supple and nimble, and for those of you with a bit of fishing spirit, it moves along really well, climbs everywhere and doesn't consume much fuel.
With a lowering strap, it's more comfortable for my 1.70m (and light weight ;).
the only downside is that it's not much fun on the road...
Rating : 4/5
French Alain81 Model 2023
It would almost tempt me ... except when I think that the Hornet 2023 is hardly more expensive than this basic little single-cylinder! Rating : 5/5
French Atmo Model 2021
It's funny how people talk without knowing the bike mdr 880mm but the suspension settles and allows any rider over 1m70 to touch the ground. Then the 8L fuel tank gives a range of around 250km, given that even when pulling on it, the bike consumes 3.2L/100. Rating : 5/5
French Roberto
Its original suspension is designed for a young pre-teen weighing no more than 50 kg when equipped. In other words, they're marshmallows. They collapse on their own just by looking at them, and the reserve lights up after 2OO km, and even less if you pull on it. Your arguments are unacceptable. One of the last trails sold in Europe, it's a shame it's not up to the standard of previous generations of XRs. Its selling price in Thailand is more realistic. Rating : 2/5
