presentation of the CBR 650 F 2015
once a versatile and efficient sportbike, the CBR 600 is now the road-going version of the Hornet roadster. The CBR 600 RR takes care of the sport, the F prioritizes the road. The 2014 version changes many things. Now the CBR 650 F, it gains more cm3 in its cylinders, and paradoxically less horsepower. This makes sense once you discover that its underpinnings are those of the CB 650 F, the manufacturer's new entry-level roadster. The latter presents it as a "relaxed urban sports bike". Does this mean the return of the T-Cat, ZZR 600 or CBR 600-type machines of the late '90s?
no, you won't be seeing a reinterpretation of those user-friendly sportbikes of the time. The CBR 650 F is a roadster transformed into a Sport-GT like the GSX-F 650, XJ6 Diversion F or ER-6F. So, we don't have enough to enter the Promosport class, but here's a good starting point for an introduction to the world of sports bikes. In fact, it's got everything you need to get a taste for singing sliders and leaning corners. The CBR 650 F comes with a pair of half-guidelines, a rather successful full fairing, a false CBR 1000 RR look in the rear, a level of comfort that a racing bike can't offer, and... appreciable power.
but that's all. This bike is intended to be an accessible sport bike that can be ridden by everyone. Those who have already tried their hand at a CBR 500 will be able to enjoy even more performance without getting scared, and once you've got a bit of experience under your belt, you'll want to switch to a CBR 600 RR. In terms of watts, the count is progressive: 48 for the 500 -> 87 for the 650 -> 120 hp for the RR. Let's stay with the middle figure, because that's the power developed by the 4-cylinder of this 650. A modern, unprecedented 649 cm3 block, optimized for low and mid-range response. It gives back some fifteen horsepower to theformer CBR 600 F, but the young Honda team that worked on it claims a fuel consumption of less than 5 liters per cent and a crisp response to acceleration.
a steel diamond-type frame in a sports machine lacks nobility these days. But is it always necessary to have a Superbike chassis? Certainly not for use away from the racetrack. On the CBR 650 F, the structure is simple. Double steel spars, conventional 41 mm forks with no adjustment, a rear shock offering only preload adjustment, 320 mm and 220 mm brake discs with twin-piston calipers at the front and one at the rear. No frills, no fuss, and contained costs that will enable the CBR 650 F to be offered at an aggressive price. Still, there are some nice touches, such as a cast aluminum swingarm, alloy wheels with a very sporty profile, and petal discs for good looks.
the CBR 600 has gradually become a pure tracker, focused exclusively on performance and warning of its racing orientation with its RR. Honda has decided to empower the urban, stylish bikes in its range with a zest of sportiness and a little more user-friendliness. Performance is good enough for fun, but will be limited or even frustrating for enthusiasts of hard riding.
The CBR 650 F comes with ABS as standard, and can be limited to A2.

Rather sporty in the middle and a little on top.
At the top, it doesn't seem to be her favorite playground.
Effective brakes, but lacks bite.
Sporty driving is fun, but requires a lot of physical commitment, even wiggling, to ensure a certain precision.
