presentation of the VTX 1300 S 2005
honda made a big impact with the 1800 VTX, a huge custom bike powered by the biggest twin on the planet. Now comes the "little" brother. A copy-paste of the 1800, it loses a front brake disc, the inverted fork, 20 kg, but also quality. Normal for a machine half the price, but we still expect a "classy" finish from a custom bike, especially when the manufacturer has built its reputation on the quality of its models. Easy to handle thanks to its low seat height and XXL handlebars, the powerful twin drives the heavy custom smoothly, punctuating its revs with a pleasant sound. A ride in town brings out the machine's shortcomings: a cable clutch that requires a lot of grip, braking that has to be fetched with conviction, and handlebar width that's not reassuring when you have to weave in and out of traffic. Taken cruising on beautiful roads, the twin's torque is a delight. But it's best not to pick up the pace, as the suspension is quickly overwhelmed and the low ground clearance quickly files the running boards. These are certainly common faults on custom bikes, but we're really disappointed by the finish - for the price, we couldn't expect chrome parts from Milwaukee.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 5 reviews
With a passenger, it's a bit trickier to manoeuvre, especially in first gear, when you need to make a 1/2 turn. After all, it's a question of adaptation, and when you know your bike well, it's all good fun.
One hiccup, however, is that the daily km totalizer tends to jump when set to total km. In the absence of a fuel gauge, beware of running out of fuel!
