presentation of the XRV 750 AFRICA TWIN 2002
in the hearts of enthusiasts, the Africa Twin symbolizes Honda's glorious exploits in African rally-raids. For everyday users, its remarkable versatility makes it indispensable. Admittedly a little more impressive in town than a Transalp, it's easy to ride, aided by its docile engine. It's equally at home on the road, like a Varadero but 15 kg lighter. The Varadero is more powerful and better suited to long-distance riding, thanks to its remarkable protection and comfortable seat, but the Africa Twin is also capable of venturing onto smaller roads. On winding roads, the bike does a marvellous job. The twin-cylinder engine offers ample power and, above all, proves indestructible. Situated between the Transalp and the Varadero in the manufacturer's trail category, it might be feared to find itself between 2 chairs. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a sporty, adventurous machine that combines all the advantages of its siblings. Its hard saddle and limited breathing will put off those who travel far and fast. Otherwise, it's an exciting, efficient machine, one of the few that smells like warm sand.

What happiness Rating : 5/5 Respond to Lou
Too bad it's getting harder and harder to find spare or adaptable parts
Otherwise, it's a real pleasure! I'll keep it as long as I can repair it or have it repaired!
If anyone has any tips for finding parts...don't hesitate to let us know! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Toutesvoilesdehors
A motorcycle for the rouletoujours, to the end of the world! Rating : 5/5 Respond to pm
It's a pleasure to ride this powerful, majestic bike, and I don't think I'll be selling it again

i'm looking for a complete carenage with tank AT 750 rd07 blan bleu rouge mod 1995 Rating : 4/5 Respond to yassinetwin
i contacted a honda dealer who told me that the 1995 honda africa twin RD07 shock absorber cannot be reconditioned
I contacted the company suspension sport who told me that for 200 euros postage included they can recondition it by changing the seals and nitrogen cartridge
My question: Who to believe?
Thank you for your advice
Bonne route à tous. Rating : 5/5 Respond to marcopolo
I have a 98 africa, I have to change the headlight bulb, friends, it's a big pain, I have to disassemble everything.
Would you have a quicker solution?
Merci pour ta réponse
Bonne journée

you don't need to disassemble everything, just put your hand behind it, to make it easier, turn the handlebars in the opposite direction, pull out the rubber protection and you're done. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
bonne route Rating : 5/5 Respond to REGIS
Plenty of torque at the bottom, without the banging, top speed to overtake quickly.... the foot!!!
I used to have a magnificent Ducati, and I wouldn't go the other way for anything in the world! ! ! !
The only drawback is that if the regulator fails, the CDI and possibly the pump are released, which is what happened to me (95 model). The CDI is 900â'¬!!!!!, a voltmeter should be added to the dashboard to avoid this...
If you adjust the suspension properly, the handling is perfect, even with mixed tires!

The saddle is hard, so you'll need to get it fitted by a saddler (approx. 100 euros), but apart from that, it's very stable, and the engine is very long.
Go ahead, treat yourself! Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

With its polished aluminum hoof, it hasn't aged a day and is still in tune with the times. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Julien 85
she's 16 years old, 85,000km and still as hard-working and pleasant as ever
i've just done a 5000 km raid, she can do 400km on a full tank the fuel consumption figures are overestimated 5.1 per 100km between 90 and 100 km/h
i'd never sell it, even though I also own a Busa, which I adore, but l\'africa, what happiness!
honda has finally understood that it needs to be reproduced from 2015 Rating : 5/5 Respond to fabien2612
and has just passed the 200,000 km mark. a former Bmist on 6 and 7 series flats, I know the pleasure of honda reliability.
this africa on the road or the track has never let me down, and my partner and i are not about to change. Rating : 5/5 Respond to plaisir passion
the gearbox was much nicer on the first and the frame is much better on the 2003.
You do have to be careful with the fuel pump and regulator (I've just fitted a new USA adaptor). I'm having a few electrical problems, but that's to be expected, given my age. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

On the other hand, it's true that it lacks a bit of trunk space when you're loaded up or riding two-up, but that doesn't bother me... I take my time and it limits infringements!... because I wanted to change to a 1000 varadero that I'd bought, and well, I sold the varadero!... also a very good machine, but I was going fast at 120 on the main roads without realizing it... too tempted to ride... At least with the africa I ride more smoothly.
Finally, the biggest drawback is the seat, which is really too hard...frankly, they could have made an effort in that area...I'll have to find a more comfortable seat.
Otherwise, very good handling (playful), good chassis, very good engine, easy maintenance, versatile, can go anywhere (well, just about anywhere!!)
Perso, its weight and height don't bother me..despite my 1.70m..I know bikes that are lower and harder to move!
That's my opinion of this bike.

a 1000 africa Twin XRV. Rating : 5/5 Respond to mikael
I've also recently fallen for a 2002 model with 13000 km, it's like new and completely original.
I changed the seat for a comfortable one (2 cm higher) and it's night and day.
A tank protector with a tank bag, and I order the "VIGI\" aluminum cases so I can set off on my adventure.
I'm thinking of adding a crankcase guard to change the front end a bit, especially in case of a fall.
It's a budget for accessories, but now it's my granny for a few years, so it's important to indulge myself while remaining reasonable.
Super bike, high and secure position, what agility once launched, it even forgives some mistakes and in duo it's the top.
It's a bike that ages well over time and, for my taste, is not out of fashion.
Safe riding to all. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Tiph

Its qualities: the distinctive styling, the sturdiness, the finish for its time, the chassis, the top braking, the engine torque, the thrust in the revs, the noise of the bi, the protection, tireless (loaded or not), the full headlight lighting..
Its faults: fuel consumption after 110, wooden seat after 100km as a duo, the quality of certain plastics, deplorable engine access..
I wanted to sell it a while ago...but at the last moment I didn't have the courage..
I like my Africa... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Nico's
consumables, nothing else to report
I've done it all with the bike: trips to the Alps and the Pyrenees, MADONE des motards in Brittany from Montpellier (1,000km there and 1,000km back), and several honeymoons since 1994 where the bike was loaded to the gills! And that's not counting trips to Spain and Italy ....Et to work every day. Well, she hasn't weakened! And she's still going. And given what I've put on her, I can't see myself doing that with today's bikes!
The next one will be an AT , more recent vintage 2000 or 2001 , that's all ! Rating : 5/5 Respond to pti'pierre
used prices are reasonable
( you can hardly get a new 125 for the same price ) without advertising there is quite a lot of choice on le bon coin . fr )
models with comfort saddle or high bubble. or by carter are assets moreover

Like everyone else, the only default is to sit on a bench, and be careful when maneuvering for smaller riders (like me). 1 single fall, at a standstill in my garage, like the big ball and chain that I am. Rating : 5/5 Respond to fred8g
350 kms of autonomy, all over Europe, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Germany and many raid projects to come. A real pleasure. Maintenance is spot on, and the extra engine takes us everywhere. But why didn't it come out in 1000 cm3 with a 6-speed gearbox? We can dream? Rating : 5/5 Respond to motarhub

It starts, it runs, in any weather, at any latitude..
Ok it's not an XX missile...but that's not what we're looking for
Okay, the saddle is hard (a little advice...before changing your saddle, get in touch with a long-distance touring cyclist in your area...He'll show you the right methods...a cyclist and his chamois leather as underneath can sometimes be a good thing... )
I've had it since 1993 ... It's been lying all over the place, and despite the miles (which I haven't counted in a long time, since I broke the speedo cable once with that jgskfgskjf!!! disc block), it's holding up
Yet I'd really like to change it...I've been saying that for 6 years now...She's hanging on, resisting...Taking turns and braking..
