presentation of the TE 250 2016
With a machine like the 250 TE, it's impossible not to enjoy yourself. The power of the 250 cm3 2-stroke engine, which can rival that of 4-stroke engines, is achieved thanks to high-tech features such as the adjustable power valve and CDI, the handlebar-mounted map switch and the Boyesen diaphragm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a precise six-speed gearbox and a high-quality Brembo hydraulic clutch. The fuel tank capacity of approx. 11 L, the largest in its class, makes it possible to reach even the most remote areas, while the electric kick starter ensures that the rider can tackle even the most difficult terrain.
engine
the power valve and Boyesen diaphragm deliver high torque at low revs and full power at high revs. Engine characteristics can be customized thanks to the standard-mounted mapping switch, which changes the CDI curve between two ignition curves according to rider preference, conditions and terrain. Further optimization of power delivery can be achieved by adjusting exhaust valve spring stiffness.
chromium-molybdenum steel frame
high-quality, high-strength steel is laser-cut and robot-welded to rigorous standards by WP Performance Systems, in precise compliance with the torsional rigidity, longitudinal flexibility and weight defined by our R&D department. Precisely defined torsional rigidity enables great handling and promotes stability, while longitudinal flexibility facilitates the absorption of terrain impacts and, in combination with the suspension, gives greater comfort and a better feel. The lightweight design allows riders to choose faster routes with confidence and maintain a steady racing pace over long periods.
polyamide rear section
the lightweight, three-piece rear section is more flexible than a traditional aluminum rear section. Combined with the frame's longitudinal flexibility and rear linkage system, it gives the rider a greater sense of comfort and confidence on his machine, enabling him to push the limits in all conditions and on all terrains. The composite rear frame design integrates an air box and rear grips.
aluminum swingarm
a great deal of development effort has gone into the aluminum swingarm to meet the very ambitious targets set by our professional riders. The precisely studied flexion of the swingarm gives riders a perfect feel for the terrain, enabling them to adjust power to the rear wheel for optimum traction and speed. The one-piece construction of the aluminum swingarm eliminates the need for welds, providing greater reliability, stability and safety than other manufacturing processes, as well as superior quality and consistent behavior over time.
4CS front fork
with the new offset on the fork crowns and fork legs, the 4CS setting has been revised to adapt to the new front-end geometry. Now in production for four years, the 4CS fork has achieved a perfect balance between performance, feel and reliability. The 4CS fork's four-chamber system has been developed to improve damping, handling, flexibility and rider comfort, ideal characteristics for enduro riding. The selector settings can be quickly and easily changed via buttons at the top of the fork tubes. The red button on the right changes rebound damping, while the white button on the left changes compression damping. WP suspension is of exceptional quality and offers the highest levels of performance. Precise design, quality materials and advanced production processes are the hallmarks of WP forks across the Husqvarna range.
revised geometry
the details of the improvements made on AM 16 enduros concern the front end, where a new 22 mm front wheel axle fitted with specific fork legs replaces the old 26 mm axle. The new axle is lighter, and the fork legs have a smaller offset and greater caster, giving greater stability and better front-end feel. The CNC-machined fork tees on all bikes now have a 22 mm offset. The resulting reduction in caster compensates for the increased caster caused by the new front wheel axle and fork legs, providing an optimum balance between agility and stability.
link-type rear suspension
now in its third year of development, the rear linkage on Husqvarna enduros is proving to be the optimum choice for all riding styles and skill levels. This versatile system performs well on a wide variety of terrains, from narrow, technical tracks to wide, high-speed circuits. The high level of comfort provided by our linkage system allows the rider to tackle rough terrain with optimum feel and traction in all circumstances.
revised rear shock adjustment
wP's high-performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock absorber has a revised setting and new valves to match the geometry and setting changes on the front axle. This new setup improves damping characteristics and balance. The high-performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock absorber has been designed by WP Performance Systems and guarantees excellent damping characteristics, as well as maximum feel and comfort. The shock absorber is fully adjustable for rebound and high/low speed compression.
large fuel tank capacity
husqvarna 2-stroke bikes feature the largest fuel tank in the competition enduro category. Designed for any terrain - from the typical forest tracks of Europe to the wide-open spaces of Australia and the USA - the 2-stroke's 11-liter fuel tank holds 1.5 liters more than its nearest competitor. The polyethylene fuel tank features an easy-to-open bayonet filler cap.
electric and kick start
the standard electric starter provides reliable, effortless starting, which is particularly appreciated in difficult terrain. TE 250 and TE 300 motorcycles with 2-stroke engines feature both an electric starter and kick starter as standard.
tool-free air filter access
tool-free access to the airbox, combined with a screwless air filter mounting system, makes maintenance and inspection of the air filter easier and quicker. All models feature a dual air filter as standard, and a specially designed air intake neck for maximum power.
new Brembo hydraulic clutch
the TE 250 now features a new Brembo hydraulic clutch system. The high-quality clutch system ensures perfect clutch modulation in all conditions. This means that backlash is constantly compensated for, and the pressure point and clutch operation remain the same in hot or cold weather, and over long periods of time. The Brembo clutch is also characterized by very even wear, and is virtually maintenance-free.
fairing
the stylish, modern fairing has been designed for a perfect fit between man and machine, and to allow total control in all conditions, whatever the rider's build.
new seat trim
the new seat pad is highly resistant and has a much higher grip than the previous material. The color, now dark blue, blends perfectly with the new fairing color.
new fork protectors with overmolded graphics
the fork protectors have been redesigned and no longer wrap around the fork leg. The new design facilitates access to the fork leg for maintenance and cleaning, as well as replacement. The white plastic now features high-quality, overmolded graphics that are both stylish and built to last.
new graphics and colors
the new AM 16 enduro hues are Dark blue pearl with bright yellow accents, while the front and rear mudguards and headlamp plate are white.
