Motorcycle specifications KawasakiVN 1700 Voyager 2010 An Electra born in Japan

wow! Look out, get out of the way: Kawasaki is once again entering the grand touring sector, this time with a custom machine equipped to the hilt. Watch out, this is no laughing matter.
After inaugurating a high-speed supertanker in the shape of the GTR 1400, the manufacturer is opening the doors to the crucifying GT with this VN 1700 Voyager. A very big custom belonging to Kawa's new sumo family: the Classic, the Tourer, and the Voyager presented here.
kawa has a long history of combining custom and travel. In the past, the 1500 Tourer was the first model in the catalog, followed by the 1600 Tourer when its displacement was increased. Today, the 1700 Tourer takes up the torch; but the Japanese giant's offer goes even further: in addition to a further increase in twinsque cubage, the 1700 Voyager is very well equipped to take on many highways and other freeways.
A huge long-range mill with plenty of torque, two side panniers, a large top case with a wide passenger backrest, 2 glove compartments to hold all the bits and bobs (you know, lighter, toll ticket, change, keys, chewing gum, etc.), and protection like that is guaranteed), and protection like that provided by a large windshield, a wide fork head and side leg guards. 3 headlamps should provide plenty of illumination. In short, we find ourselves in the presence of the Japanese version of an... Electra-Glide. The only difference between the two is the manufacturer's logo and the presence of a water cooler. OK, let's skip the controversy.
kawa isn't just launching a new super cruiser. It's also taking the opportunity to add a few useful everyday features. The Voyager comes with cruise control, a 6-speed gearbox (the last of which is overdriven to lower engine speed at the right speed), the new K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced Coactive-braking Technology) braking system, which improves the rider's braking control by increasing the overall power of the braking unit, and a new electronic throttle opening control system for smoother, more progressive engine response.
and what about this engine? Nothing less than an enormous 1700 cc twin with a torque of almost 14 mkg, available from 2750 rpm. A real iron fist that will have no trouble lifting this imposing cruiser.
my biggest complaint is its lack of power and feel.
i'm 54, i don't drive like i did when i was 20, but i'd like to be able to give a burst of throttle to overtake without having to anticipate for long minutes.
this seems a legitimate remark given the size of the engine.
besides, kawa doesn't offer any debriding.
perhaps you have a solution?
THANK YOU. Rating : 2/5 Respond to VINCENT
I ordered a KAM'S KIT in the US to have the fan air under the bike and not on the shins like the vn1700 from 2011.
KN filter, 3-way inlet.
Pleasant for two. Lacks a little power and ground clearance.

Because of this disturbing noise, it lowers the rating of this bike and of the Kawasaki company. Rating : 3/5 Respond to Ren

I bought a 1700 tourer in 2010, a bike for long journeys, very well seated, not bad on the b... the range is great, but I have to admit it's not great for overtaking, unless you anticipate passing. I've heard on several forums about 3-way air inlet sleeves and KN filters. If you have an address to give me, I'd love to hear from you.

What's more, the lines and round shapes are far more pleasing to the eye than the "other" model's pruned shapes.
I've owned this model since 2010, with 50,000km on the odometer, and it's a real pleasure to drive!
The only complaint is that it lacks a few horsepower, but with a KN filter and a 3-way air intake instead of 2 in Europe, there's more than enough to risk losing points; in any case, that's not the spirit of this long-distance traveler. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Mich\'80
A beautiful among the most beautiful respecting the taste of each but it is already timeless proof is with mine of 2009 unchanged model 2013 4 years without wrinkles certainly I drive little
but what pleasures on the long blue ribbon.
Even those of the fPolice or Gendarmes aren't so pretty, they're only there to issue fines on a banal frame; while we shine with a thousand chromes.

After X belt adjustments, it's finally the gearbox that makes a terrible noise between 40 and 70 km/h!
In short, the Kawa importer washes his hands of it and concludes after 4 months that this cacophony is normal and common to the series of all VN 1700s !!!
It's mind-boggling, this is the most expensive bike in the Kawa range and it feels like riding a construction wheelbarrow!
Personally, I'm going to take legal action against Kawa! Rating : 1/5 Respond to mattheyc
