from 2015 to 2026900 Tracer - from crossover to atypical tourer.
after the MT-09's stunning debut, Yamaha launched an atypical derivative a few years later: the MT-09 850 Tracer - a mix of roadster, trail bike and tourer, with a turbulent engine and a superbly positioned price tag. It was a runaway success! Enthusiasm was everywhere, except for the borderline mediocre suspension.
Barely 3 years later, the 900 Tracer (its name had changed shortly before) received its first facelift, gaining in comfort and beginning to take on a more touring profile. It was accompanied by a GT version, with suitcases, color TFT screen and enhanced electronics.
in 2021, a new name change (Tracer 9), a more touring-oriented profile, a larger 3-cylinder engine, a new frame and a more mature design. The big Tracer has completely lost its wild side to become THE Yamaha tourer, especially in its GT and GT+ versions. With each new version, the Tracer can be fitted with semi-active suspension, adaptive cornering lights, hypersport electronics, adjustable ergonomics and adaptive cruise control with radar.
