fAMEL stands for 'Fabrica de Produtos Metalicos Lda'. Active from 1949 to 2002, the Potuguese brand declined in the 80s and 90s, then went bankrupt in 2002.
In 2024, Famel hopes to relaunch with a new electric model: the E-FX.
