Triumph had announced its motocross and enduro ambitions in mid-2021. The answer came in 2024 with the TF 250-X, quickly joined by the special edition TF 450-RC. An ambitious machine that marked Triumph's debut in its class. This specially designed motocrosser benefits from the latest technical updates introduced on the TF 250-X.

A new Exedy clutch optimizes lubrication ports, further improving durability and traction in extreme racing conditions. The new Belleville clutch spring offers optimized operation and constant engagement. New engine mounts are tuned for more responsive chassis performance, while a new gear selector star offers improved shift selection and precise engagement.

The new Performance Yellow graphics kit, with its molded logos, gives the TF 450-X a sporty, race-ready look.

A challenger with the muscle to match

With a maximum power output of 62.4 hp at 9,500 rpm, Triumph's 450 cm3 4-stroke single is the most powerful engine in its class. Its power-to-weight ratio also surpasses that of its competitors, with an ultra-light chassis and a weight of 108.3 kg.

To ensure that riders have everything they need, the TF 450-X is equipped with top-of-the-range components including Brembo brakes, KYB suspension, Pro Taper handlebars and D.I.D wheels as standard, as well as race-optimized electronics including launch control, traction control, quickshifter and dual engine mapping.

Designed for racing and offering relentless torque, the 450cm3 engine delivers raw power with optimized control. The engine mapping is carried over from theRC edition, improving throttle response and increasing low-end torque, giving riders more control out of corners and more powerful starts.
A quickshifter is also fitted as standard, enabling clutchless shifting from 2nd to 5th gear.

Designed for competitive performance, the engine features a forged aluminum König piston for strength and durability at high revs. Flow-optimized titanium Del West valves are ultra-light, enabling higher revs and improved response, while DLC-coated rocker arms and cams minimize friction, enhancing durability and smooth performance under heavy load. Magnesium crankcases, developed for racing, are lightweight, strong, cool efficiently and easy to maintain.

The advanced fuel and air supply system includes a 44 mm Dell'Orto throttle body and Keihin injector. The airbox and muffler, first introduced on the TF 450- RC edition, improve airflow and throttle response while complying with FIM and AMA noise regulations.

Brembo brakes with Galfer discs deliver powerful, constant stopping power. D.I.D DirtStar 7000 series aluminum rims are fitted with Pirelli MX32 mid-tensile tires, offering an excellent compromise between grip and durability. A disc guard is available as an option for extra protection in difficult conditions.

Gear for the front

The TF 450-X retains Triumph's aluminum frame, an ultra-light double-cradle design that combines rigidity and flexibility to give 100% confidence. The hydroformed swingarm and linkage system reduce weight while maximizing grip and traction, contributing to excellent rear grip and suspension behavior.

KYB settings are also carried over from the RC version, developed to improve mid-stroke control, chassis balance and cornering stability. Optimized using competition data to deliver professional-level performance, the top-of-the-range KYB settings have been optimized for big shocks and fast-paced technical sections. KYB's 48mm AOS coil-sprung forks and adjustable separate reservoir shock are tuned to deliver consistent damping, controlled landings and improved front-end feel over a wide variety of terrain.

Upgraded with high-end components, the TF 450-X features Neken fork tees, ProTaper ACF handlebars and ODI lock-on grips, completing a comfortable cockpit. The final drive comprises a D.I.D 520 SDH chain and a jointly developed JT pinion / sprocket assembly.

The complete electronic package includes launch control, traction control, shifter and two engine maps. Riders can switch between power modes using handlebar controls or the optional MX Tune Pro application, which also unlocks up to ten additional engine maps when combined with the accessory engine management unit. A sensor-based instrument panel provides real-time engine data, diagnostics and maintenance alerts, while a discreet hour meter records engine running time.

The Athena ECU controls ignition, launch, traction and mapping settings, and is integrated with GET Power Assist for smooth traction and launch control.
