presentation of the Tiger 900 GT Pro 2021
In the beginning, Man walked. Then he tamed beasts to lead him over the winds. Then he created roads and spread them across the Earth. Then he created the machine to dominate the roads. His thirst for conquest was eventually overtaken by the machine. Then Triumph created the Tiger 900 GT Pro. And the man realized that motorcycles could exceed his desires.
When it comes to buying a trail bike for the road, you can choose to be sensible with a medium-displacement bike, or less sensible with a large-displacement bike. But it's also possible to burn a hole in the wallet while staying within the mid-size range. This is the case with machines such as the Multistrada 950 S, the Turismo Veloce Lusso or this over-equipped Tiger. As if the 900 Tiger GT had plunged into the accessories catalog like Obelix in the magic potion (without the extra weight).
It's the same with cars. The basic model lures you into the dealership until a version loaded with treats gets your pulse racing. You come away having lost a few gold teeth, but with a machine that's ready for standing as well as for all-out cruising.
Equipment is now top-of-the-range. In addition to all the equipment found on the basic 900 Tiger + the GT, the Pro gets luminescence officers with turn signals that convert to LEDs, as well as a pair of additional headlights. Then there's practicality and comfort on multiple levels. Heated grips are already present on the GT, so we might as well support it with heated rider and passenger seats. Tire pressure is sensor-controlled, shifting is assisted by a shifter, and the rear suspension is electronically adjustable. There are four preload settings ("rider", "rider and luggage", "rider and passenger" and "rider, luggage and passenger") and nine rebound settings. A few bits of light have been hidden under the switches to provide backlighting for the controls. Driving Modes have been increased from 4 to 5 (Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road and the programmable Rider), and Bluetooth connectivity has been installed for interaction with your smartphone. This makes it possible to control music, calls, certain functions and a simplified navigation system; and pairing also makes it possible to control a GoPro. And let's not forget an element of pure joy during certain technical operations: the center stand.

It's dense, it's rewarding, and it packs a punch. At around 15,000 bales, that's a lot to think about. Consider that even if it's less well equipped, an 1100 Africa Twin is more affordable. It's hard to believe you'd fall for a machine of this caliber at such a hefty price. What's more, it doesn't come with suitcases or luggage of any kind. Nevertheless, the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro is likely to be of interest to many. After all, the machine dominated the man. But all he cared about was the pleasure he could get from his lustful tormentor. And Man thought this was good. For him.

7000 km later, I'm really glad I made this choice. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Chris83640
At the price of the machine, this is very disappointing.
I was missing a ticket for the GS. Too bad Rating : 5/5 Respond to Arradon
The price: 15,000 francs ??? in a dream... with the crash bar + suitcase & top case supports (without the luggage) we're approaching 17,000..
The engine: yes, it works, I'm not going to say otherwise... but to find a difference with its 800 predecessor, you'd have to split hairs !!! the 800 worked just as well as the 900, and I know what I'm talking about, I've had 2 of them !!!
The electronic suspension is not electronic... it's just a suspension with ELECTRIC adjustment... ok it's comfortable to be able to adjust at the knob, but for not far from 16,000 bales in base price you'd be entitled to expect a dynamic suspension !!! What's more, the fork is only manually adjustable... If the front isn't adjusted in relation to the rear, I'm not telling you how the bike will behave !!!
The saddle: a torture board!!! new bike, 20 km after leaving the dealership I went straight to a motorcycle saddler!!! a shame to sell such a piece of crap!!!
The tires: first fitment in Shit-zeler... ideal for drifting on dry roads and hill climbs... on wet ones, you squeeze your buttocks and rush home, praying to God you don't wallow like a buzzard at the first roundabout... Still at list price, I'd have liked to have tires... real tires..
GPS connectivity: a piece of shit that Triumph doesn't improve... it would be so simple to put Android Auto on and then basta!!! or allow a REAL gps to spit on the TFT screen..
GoPro control: a good idea at the outset, except that it works when you want it to... sometimes everything goes well, in which case it's super comfortable!!! as long as the GoPro isn't paused... because then it spoils..
other times, you have a crisis to start a recording, which sometimes never starts... even though my gopro is brand new... and placed not 30 cm from the screen..
Braking: the brembo Stylema front brakes are indeed a godsend... unfortunately, the rear brake is (very) far from keeping up with the front... It's quite a feat to get the front/rear braking right... and let's not even talk about emergency braking !!!! What on earth possessed Triumph to put great braking at the front and a piece of shit that can't keep up at the back???
The bubble: it does the job, but not as well as the Tiger 800's..
The 2 cooling radiators, and the supposedly reworked hot-air evacuation... this must have been reworked by some smart-ass engineer, because in real life, you always get so much hot air in your legs... and as it's designed, you can't help but get it all on your legs..
The shifter: a totally useless accessory on a Tiger... Triumph would have done better to make it an option, and to use Stylema for rear braking! Personally, I've deactivated it, as I'm rarely at the rpm required for the shifter, and I don't want to break the gearbox..
Choice of colors too limited... why only 3 colors for each Tiger range when you have the same tanks on the GT/Rally/Tiger 850 ranges???
electrics: those crappy DIN plugs... TRIUMPH STOP IT!!! Mad about USB sockets, period !!!
Smartphone receptacle under the seat: very good idea... but poorly thought out... today's smartphones don't fit in the receptacle if they have a screen of 5 inches or more... plus the USB charging socket is badly placed...
if the smartphone fits, there's no room for the charging cable..
The size of the footrests has been reduced... I preferred the wider ones on the Tiger 800
Three positive points though... Fuel consumption: I have to pull like a donkey to exceed 5.5l... In touring mode, I'm running at just under 5l...
The (slight) lowering of the center of gravity (compared to the 800) does indeed make itself felt when maneuvering at a standstill and when putting the bike on the center stand.
The engine is less noisy than that of the 800, which is appreciated on long journeys..
For me, the die is cast... the Tiger 900 will be my last Triumph purchase..
My next bike will most certainly be the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso... it costs 3,000 francs more than the Triumph, but MV Agusta doesn't take the piss out of its customers... the on-board technology more than justifies the price!!! and it's not assembled by little Thais... Rating : 3/5 Respond to Luigi
I bought this bike in April 2022 and after the break-in period, it is very pleasant, powerful enough (95 HP) for French roads and supple. The 810 mn seat is easy to access for my 1.70. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Silverbike
You feel safe on it
Much improved since the xr X Rating : 5/5 Respond to Tarn
