with his head in the bubble, his concentration focused and optimistic on the handlebars speed on his 750 VF-F; and with a hell of a banana, because since he's been powering down the freeway, nobody's given him a lift.
Wwwwhhhoooossshh...!!! "Put..., what was that?" The rocket that just smoked our VF-Fiste is the new Bimota SB4. A little marvel that spins along at speeds known only to the reckless. For those who dare to push this bike at very, very high speeds, or simply for the guys who are not too shaken up, this Italian sports bike is capable of taking you to the 230 km/h mark. And on the freeway, that's pretty bad. Well, the situation sucks, because the SB4 is built to hold its ground.

buying a Bimota means having a well-stocked purse, but it also means buying a very special machine. We're in the presence of a beautiful motorcycle, which isn't about showing off - it's about elegance and passion. Hand-crafted finishing, magnificent fork crowns cut from aluminum, superb engine mounting plates, small 16" wheels with large rubber bands, a one-piece rear hull-seat-tank assembly, BTR screws galore, a split swingarm with eccentric chain adjustment... This bike bewitches you even before it reveals itself. A sports machine conceived and designed just for that. With 111 hp and a dry weight of just over 200 kg, the machine promises first-rate speed. The powerplant is well known: it's the big 4-cylinder from the Suzuki 1100 ES. If you like vibrations, you're in for a treat. The mill is rigidly mounted in the trellis frame. As a result, the whole bike vibrates. Between the mechanical mess and the noise, you need to have nerves of steel to cope with the beast's moods. But that's not what makes you love or hate a bike, and on a Bimota, the pleasure of riding is the only master.
Riding is indeed the right word. The SB4 requires skilled hands, experience and composure. Bimota's exhausts have made the Japanese engine a little more hollow, but this is to soar with even greater vigor when it gets excited in the revs. Even before, the boiler pushes hard. The SB4 takes off, the lap times soar.
Once off the freeway and attacking the curves, it's time for a bit of wooing. In this game, the Italian is king. There's no need to fight or force it, the bike obeys you like a faithful servant. Set the trajectory, and it sticks to it. The suspension is obviously sporty, but not wooden. And thanks to them, you always know what kind of tarmac you're riding on.

precise, exhilarating, maneuverable and well-protected (thanks to the big bubble), the machine's only shortcomings are its tendency to steer and its braking. In fact, its brake hoses rather than its efficiency. The Brembo "gold" series are very effective, but the simple rubber hoses just aren't up to the job. You'll have to get rid of them fast and replace them with armored or aviation models to benefit from Brembo quality.
Compare the SB4 to any other sports car? Inconceivable. This bike offers pleasure, exclusivity, the unawareness of speed and a touch of the unreasonable. Far from materialistic considerations, passion is the only price to pay.

French matmat Model 1984
the test of this bimota dates back to the time of its release and the comments were obviously to put back in its epoch. mine is from 86 and to my knowledge there are only 2 of them registered in france. the tendency to handlebar is quite real, the power of the engine is nevertheless resonable especially compared to the current standarts. mine is mounted with a racing carburetor ramp, which makes it racy at the top but delicate at low revs with frequent clogging. comfort is non-existent, especially with its foam seat, but who cares, it's not a gold wing...the best part is the astonishment of the bikers you meet, whose eyes remain glued to the green light! riding something different is a rare pleasure, and always pushes you to be different! now I don't ride it anymore, because of a clutch problem, and above all because of its rarity, which prevents me from falling off, and which causes me a lot of problems with worn parts (custom aluminum chain kit!, 16' tires...) but the visual pleasure of this work of art will always remain
