presentation of the DB12 B Tourist 2013
rimini extends its style to virtues other than sportiness. Roadster, Supermotard, and now a sport-touring machine. Astonishment! This DB12 B Touring, a motorcycle designed for travel, sportiness and luxury, is immediately positioned as a heavyweight, as it is directly derived from the DB9.
the approach is as delicate as if Ferrari were producing a family station wagon. The adoption of road cladding is a departure from the slenderness of Rimini's productions, without detracting from the style. Comfort and practicality are almost a discovery for the brand, which offers the DB12 a good-sized bubble, large handlebars, a luggage rack, enough room for a luggage kit and a real seat suitable for two-up riding. You'd almost think it was a real tourer.
under the wide fairing panels, the touring feeling is drowned in technical exclusivity and mechanical responsiveness. As usual, the chassis combines open-work aluminum plates with a tubular steel trellis structure. The swingarm follows the same pattern. Well-hidden and eager to express itself, the engine comes, as the name DB indicates, from Ducati. What could be more appropriate than a 162 hp Multistrada / Diavel twin to power its way out of fashion shows and refined cocktail parties? After all, the DB12 B Touring is more at home between two social events than on a country road. Don't be weary of detailing the magnificent brake caliper brackets cut from the mass and mastering Brembo clamps, the OZ Racing rims, the parts cut from aluminium, the aggressive design, etc...
Don't think of the DB12 as a true GT sports car, but rather as a new touring experience, halfway between the pleasure of the exceptional and the dry perfume of sport.
