presentation of the R 1200 GS ADVENTURE 2010
the 1200 GS takes advantage of its 2010 vintage to boost its flat-twin. A more adventurous version, but mechanically identical, the Adventure also benefits from the new Boxer 1200. Not really new, but a fine evolution with the transfer of elements from the HP2 Sport.
Each cylinder head now houses two overhead camshafts. Intake and valve-head diameters have been increased, pistons and combustion chambers redesigned, and an exhaust valve added... And the result is a more vigorous Bavarian flat. It can rev up to 500 rpm, or 8500 rpm. Power increases to 110 hp (+5%) and torque gains a good half mkg.
The handlebar inversion adjustment system, which disappeared for a while, is back. This allows you to choose between road and track riding positions. The (extensive) catalog of options now includes additional LED headlights. A special 'rotten fuel' mapping system is available as a free option if you plan to venture into remote areas where benzine is not of the same quality as at home. With its extra watts, the R 1200 GS Adventure is a step ahead of the Guzzi Stelvio NTX.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 9 reviews
-superb handling
-perfect, dosable braking, and the bike's geometry makes braking reactions on corners almost non-existent
-very reasonable fuel consumption (oil - 1l every 10,000km, petrol - 6l/100 - and tires - one set every 12,000km or so)
-perfect reliability to date
Negative points (apart from the seat height, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who tried it BEFORE buying it):
-no particular character (you don't get attached to it for services rendered, and that's fine, but nothing more)
-throttle control much too sensitive around the zero point (especially when you're driving on the throttle and let go of the handle: BIG brake hit due to too abrupt injection cut-off). Of course, as the dealer said, you haven't even tried the GS liquid with its ride-by-wire control! Well then, I'll just have to get used to entering a slow bend or a roundabout on the clutch, or sell it!
This last point annoys me enough to have put it up for sale! Rating : 4/5 Respond to Nico
so no possibility of mounting on the current adventure
A Rating : 5/5 Respond to amiral
can a windvane gearbox be fitted as an option on a 2013 version 1200 gs adventure?
thank you Rating : 4/5 Respond to amiral
We'll have to wait for the next version, which will be equipped with the new liquid twin and an electronic throttle. With this type of throttle, cruise control will have to be fitted as an option, as on the new R 1200 GS. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
