presentation of the R 1200 R Classic 2012
while the K 1300 R and F 800 R are making a mess on the streets, the R 1200 R is maintaining its manners and showing a respectable upbringing. When you're descended from a line of 1100 R, 80 R and cousins, you behave like a lady, and you don't go around punching people in the face like that.
this Classic version of the new R 1200 R displays a certain old-fashioned elegance, as the old-timers would say. It's no longer fitted with spoked rims, as in the old days. To accentuate its vintage look, an AC Cobra-style white stripe runs down the middle. To complete the picture, the rear-view mirrors are chromed, and the paintwork on the technical parts differs from the standard model: the Classic is covered in aluminum gray on the frame, engine, Telelever and Paralever, while the R 1200 R opts for black for its trellis tubes and bronze for the cylinder heads and ground links.
Does this Classic offer classic performance? No way! The boxer with HP2 Sport genes and 110 horsepower is just waiting to express itself. The previous model lacked neither velocity nor efficiency - it can only be as good, if not better.
