presentation of the Concept 101 2015
At the "Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este", BMW presented this styling study based on the K 1600 GT: the Concept 101. A rather advanced vision of a bagger developed on the basis of the Behemoth flagship. The codes of the genre are respected, with a low, sweeping stance, a minimalist windshield, stylish suitcases carried by a streamlined rear axle, and an overall profile imbued with finesse. At the heart of the 101 concept is the majestic 1643 cm3 in-line 6-cylinder engine, encased in an aluminum perimeter frame. Around it, stylists and engineers went a little wild: wood veneer, use of carbon and brushed aluminum, redesigned Duolever front axle, transparent clutch housing, square pots with side outlets, thin LED blades for the rear lights, etc...
The Concept 101 was born in the workshops of Roland Sands. An interpretation of travel that certainly announces more. A bagger for 2016, from the K 1600 series? We're hearing a lot about it, and a few spy photos of an evolution of the K 1600 GT are making the rounds on the web. The American market really appreciates this kind of tourer. And BMW knows how to conquer every market category.
