presentation of the XB-12 SX LIGHTNING City Cross 2010
with its City Cross concept, the XB-9S X mixed the techno genre with its translucent parts and urban jungle feel. Buell uses the same recipe, but with a few extra horsepower and torque. But how? With the big 1203 cm3 Thunderstorm twin. A mini wheelbase, inverted forks with a slight rake, and Harley mechanics with a good bang make this big toy a sensational machine. The cross-country spirit is distilled with large handlebars, trail-style handguards and a protective grille in front of the headlights. The bubble and translucent fuel tank add the final touch of fun. Now a staple in the Buell range, fluids are contained in the chassis (gasoline in the frame and oil in the swingarm) and braking is handled by a huge 375 mm perimeter disc. Rebellious and different, the XB-12S X is not so much a novelty as a fun but not watered-down version of the most compact of streetfighters.
