presentation of the Molot 2015
It was called "Marteau" - a translation of the Russian word"Molot". With it, designer Igor Chak wanted to design a motorcycle with a high level of safety.
Based on a heavily modified 2012-2013 Honda CBR 1000 RR, the machine positioned itself as the "world's safest motorcycle" when it was unveiled.
A show of ego topped by a particularly remarkable design. The Molot combines an aggressive, futuristic design with safety technologies previously reserved for high-end automobiles. Every aerodynamic line has been designed for a specific purpose, and the fairings incorporate extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum for reduced weight and increased strength.
State-of-the-art safety
The heart of the Molot's innovation lies in its technological arsenal dedicated to accident prevention:
- Predictive Emergency Braking System (PEBS): Using radar (short- and long-range) and a front HD camera, PEBS monitors traffic. In the event of sudden deceleration of the vehicle ahead, the system first warns the driver (warning light and handlebar vibration), then applies light braking, and finally engages maximum braking force automatically if the driver fails to react, all in coordination with ABS.
- Blind Spot Monitoring: rear sensors detect vehicles in the blind spot and alert the rider via a warning light on the dashboard or in the rearview mirror, accompanied by a gentle vibration of the handlebars.
- Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): this device causes the handlebars to vibrate if the motorcycle veers off course without the turn signal being activated.
- Integrated black box: Similar to those found on aircraft, a shock-, water- and heat-resistant black box stores 24/7 data and video recordings captured by the front and rear HD cameras, even when the bike is parked. This data cannot be altered.
- Gyroscopic safety cut-off: an integrated gyroscope is designed to detect a loss of control (fall or severe skidding) and temporarily cuts off the throttle to avoid aggravating the situation.

Construction and design
The Molot favors lightweight materials. The majority of body components are made of carbon fiber. It also uses a lithium-ion battery to save weight compared with standard batteries.
The aesthetics are those of an ultra-modern machine. The cockpit is uncluttered, with brake hoses and cables concealed inside for better protection from the elements and aerodynamics. Lighting is provided entirely by an LED system for headlights, daytime running lights, indicators and taillights.
Its price was announced at around $75,000 at the time of its presentation. But the bike never saw the light of day. On the other hand, many of its technologies would be offered years later. Unlike the Molot, it wasn't sportbikes that were equipped with them, but mainly trail-GTs.
