presentation of the XL 883 R Sportster 2006

this R version of the little 883 sporster is inspired by American dirt-track machines. To justify this appellation, the mini Harley is adorned with a cool orange and black deco, wider handlebars, a two-seater seat and a stylish exhaust. Power output remains unchanged, but torque is up by half a kg. 2 front discs are responsible for stopping the little player. In a manner of speaking, the 883 R is designed above all for strolling, admiring the gently rolling landscape, smelling the scent of hazelnuts and the expressive "good vibrations". With its flat handlebars, the R offers a pleasant riding position. The tumbling twin isn't very powerful, but that doesn't matter. The sensations, the sound, and its American character are far more inspiring than an outpouring of watts. With the Sportster, it's all about cruising and winding. More sport is possible - the machine is stable, rigid and brakes well. The not-so-great suspension and limited ground clearance will soon bring you back to riding more playfully than wildly.

Bridage Harley Iron 883 XL de 2010
French teonc Model 2010
Hello,

I have just bought a 2010 harley iron 883 xl and need to bridle it for the A2.
Do you know what the clamping process is? Is it done on the electronics, on the throttle, on the carburetor or on the exhaust? After 3 different shop harley, no identical answer... I rely on you..

Thanks in advance

bruit étrange sur Harley 883
French vroom883 Model 2002
hello, my 883R of 2002 and 29500 Kms makes a regular clacking noise when stopped (hot or cold) at the lower engine level on the left side which worries a potential buyer. Everything else is fine except the air filter, which needs changing, but I don't see what this has to do with the noise
Can you help? vroom, vromm

in my opinion, you should consult a Harley dealer or agent because your primary chain tensioner shoe must be attacked. Don't wait too long though. Rating : 4/5

hello, I ride a harley 883 2009, it's been two years, I'm a woman 5 feet 2 inches, I would like to change because the comfort of my 883 is not ideal for long rides and the tank is always empty, but as I am small and my experience in motorcycle is not very long, I do not know what to choose. I like the model harley slim or steet bob, but perhaps there is another model harley that would be better for me.I like the harley slim or the steet bob, but maybe there's another harley model that would be better for me. i want a bike that's not too heavy and on which i'll feel comfortable given my height and experience. thank you very much Rating : 3/5

My spouse has just changed her sporter 1200R 2008 for a softail slim, very good choice because the slim is a softail very little wide, with a very low weight, my spouse is 5'' and 3'''. the only defect of the slim is its oil cap which brings heat under the right thigh Rating : 4/5

I recently bought a Super low 883 from 2013 (1600kms) Nothing to complain about on this bike, except the really low seat height for me (1.78 m).this 883R 2015, with a seat height announced of 740 or 760 should suit me better.... So,,!! I'm selling my superlow to get the 883 R P/S right away: I'm 78 years old.....and I'm still going strong...

OK, but excuse me, I love Harley and this 883R has been a dream of mine for a long time. I'm 55 years old and this beautiful motorcycle suits me just fine, far from the speed madness of sports bikes ridden by young people. Guys, I know too well what we get up to on the roads...
long live the bikers.

Totally agree with SEB !!!!!
maybe this will be my next bike, I like the one I've got now but it's too powerful for speed cameras, I want to ride cooler !!!!
Seb, you're happy with yours, but I do about 15,000 km a year just for touring. What do you think ????
What's your fuel consumption?? because 12.5L seems a bit light to me. Is it possible to fit a bigger tank ????
Thank you

Very good value for money, a real h-d to enter the legend, a real motorcycle all steel, its imperfections for some make qualities for me, do not seek performance but to have fun while keeping his license, I own one for a year 8000kms on the odometer plus 17000kms on the odometer of my electra is 25000kms again this year and it's been half a century that it lasts I specify that for those who think that the sportster is a motorcycle for beginners. Let them eat up a few kilometers on the bike before having strong opinions gg Rating : 5/5
French sturmtroop Model 2001
As for the 883R 2007, the engine is fuller, especially at low revs, climbs more quickly, pulls well, the engine is very pleasant, but for practical aspects, put your hand in the wallet, but you know that when you buy..

It's still a very slim bike with a low seat height, easy to handle, fuel consumption is 4.5L/100 kms, very low and very easy to maintain..

For the moment, my only modification is to fit a small package holder that follows the shape of the rear mudguard... voilou...

Well, it's my third bike. After an insipid new Fazer 600, a pretty but unreliable Triumph 900 legend TT, I love my Harley. With an air filter and screamin eagle pots, it's become muscular enough for me
It vibrates, it growls and it sounds. You don't have to be going 240 km/h to get a feel for it!
If you don't like it, it's because you haven't tried it!

It's a real shame that a state-of-the-art machine from the 50's is still so expensive, knowing that, according to the various reviews of the 883, air filters and exhausts need to be changed to make it breathe a little more... And at the price of these EXOTIC parts... Rating : 5/5

best price-pleasure ratio at harley. almost perfect performance after replacing the filter and original pot. i've kept it in addition to my road king. Rating : 5/5
French Bernie Model 2001
A few additions to the test text: - with new rear shocks and a well-tuned fork, this is a bike I'm having fun putting through its paces on the roads around the Verdon. - the saddle is great for solo riding, but for long trips with a partner, I have a pullman saddle that barely satisfies my wife's buttocks. It takes 23 seconds to change. - my average fuel consumption on small roads is 4.5l. I'm only getting up to the 5.8l claimed for city driving. See you one of these days on the roads of the South-East! Rating : 5/5
