presentation of the 1250 NIGHT ROD SPECIAL VRSCDX 2012
2012 sees the Night-Rod Special get a facelift. Like all models in the "liquid" range, it sports commemorative "10th Anniversary" badges to celebrate the V-Rod's 10th anniversary. But above all, the front end becomes sportier: the 49 mm fork is replaced by an inverted model with black-painted forks. The wheels are lighter, ergonomics have been improved and the rear end has been redesigned. The Night Rod's little sister, the VRSCDX Night Rod Special is a concentrate of style and performance. With a blacked-out Revolution 1246 cc engine spitting out 123 hp and 111 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, the VRSCDX Night Rod Special is the kingpin of Power Cruisers. The blackened parts give it a dark look, and the 240 mm tires (18" rear and 19" front) are ready to devour the asphalt.
A true custom at heart, the Night Rod Special features a restyled low seat, just 640mm off the ground, low and wide dragster-style handlebars, advanced foot controls that are a little too far away from the rider's body.and, above all, an inverted fork angled at 34° that makes it want to eat asphalt.
The hydroformed black steel frame, fork, three Brembo (no, you're not dreaming) 4-piston brake discs, swingarm and solid black openwork rims show the dark side of the Night Rod Special. The blackened Revolution engine with raised fins and lacquered crankcases, the headlamp nacelle, the raised and brushed double exhaust with blackened caps and guards, as well as the mirrors, rear shocks and controls reveal even more. The Black-On-Black finish with racing stripes gives the bike the mean look of a big, powerful custom. A 19-liter fuel tank is located under the seat, leaving plenty of room for long rides. The 2011 model is fitted with the new Michelin Scorcher tires.
Sitting on this monster, you'll notice an imposing stance and be ready to gobble up everything in one turn of the wheel. So consider yourself a road pirate if you can write a check for almost €18,000.
