presentation of the CRF 150 R 2023
the CRF 150 R/B is the smallest of the Honda cross-country machines. It's an authentic competition machine, and the perfect transition to the larger-displacement CRF 250 R and CRF 450 R. It's powered by a four-stroke Unicam engine - a unique feature in current production - which delivers high yet progressive power and torque throughout the rev range.
showa suspensions include a 37 mm inverted fork, an adjustable monoshock and a Pro-Link variable gearing system.
cycle
the CRF 150 RB features a strong, lightweight frame made from large-diameter tubular steel for stable straight-line handling and agile cornering.
for optimum control of compression and rebound damping functions, the CRF 150 RB uses a Showa inverted fork with cartridges and ø 37 mm offset axle. This component benefits from antifriction technology and is teamed with a Pro-Link variable rear suspension. Both front and rear components are tuned specifically for the CRF 150 RB, to offer the best possible absorption characteristics whatever the track conditions.
the wheels are sturdy and generously dimensioned, with a 15 mm axle at the front and 17 mm at the rear, for an ideal balance between strength and unsprung weight.
braking is by discs, ø 220 mm for the front and ø 190 mm for the rear, pinched by high-performance pads for powerful, precise braking. At the rear, an HRC-type master cylinder eliminates the need for a separate reservoir and hose.
like every member of Honda's off-road range, the CRF 150 RB proudly asserts its heritage. The 4.2-liter tank and plastic trim provide a dynamic image, directly inspired by that of the CRF 250 R and CRF 450 R. Seat height is 866 mm.
engine
the CRF 150 R is powered by a compact, high-performance 149.7 cm3water-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve Unicam single-cylinder engine. Weighing just 19.7 kg, it delivers power and torque that can be exploited throughout the rev range.
bore and stroke are 66 x 43.7 mm, with a volumetric ratio of 11.7 to 1. The ø 32 mm Keihin FCR carburetor features a return pump to ensure constant fuel supply and optimum throttle response.
an automatic decompression system and a handlebar-mounted hot-start system ensure worry-free starting, whether the engine is hot or cold.
the dual-rotor lubrication system limits the volume of oil circulated; one of the two pumps lubricates the crankshaft, piston and timing system, while the second, larger pump lubricates the transmission and clutch. This design ensures a steady supply of fresh oil to the clutch, and eliminates the risk of engine oil contamination by clutch particles.
the large air filter housing is connected to a ø 26 mm intake duct and houses a reusable double foam filter. On the exhaust side, the ø 22.5 mm duct leads to a steel manifold, terminated by a reworkable aluminum silencer.
the CRF 150 R's gearbox features 5 short ratios, perfectly matched to the engine's characteristics, for performance that can be exploited in any gear.
