Motorcycle specifications HondaGL 1800 GOLDWING 2011 Delicious lust

Touring

the 1500 Goldwing was quite simply the most prestigious motorcycle limousine since its introduction in 1987. A monster of comfort powered by a 6-cylinder flathead, but whose handling could become hesitant under heavy use.
Almost 15 years of marketing, studies and engineering brainstorming later, Honda presents its new flagship. Ever since the appearance of a certain BMW K 1200 LT, the Japanese were beginning to wonder. And this golden bird of the year 2000 is one hell of a machine, superlative to its glorious ancestor.
In terms of design, technology and mechanics, this is a new century. It's recognizable at first glance, even though the plastic has been thoroughly revisited. The lines are smooth, flowing, still impressive and majestically classy. The bike is beautiful, very beautiful, and commands respect. The engine is still a flat-6, but has been upgraded to 1832 cm3, with fuel injection, catalytic converters and high-performance engine management, and boasts 118 hp and over 17 mkg of torque. A real liner. A closer look at the X-ray reveals a double-spar aluminum chassis worthy of a hypersport bike. The water radiators are side-mounted, as on the VTR and VFR. This new chassis provides rigidity and flawless handling never before seen on a Goldwing. The machine has also been slimmed down by 9 kg. The weight remains substantial, but despite its dry weight of 363 kg, its 6-cylinder engine is never short of breath and can take this palace to 200 km/h. And all in imperial comfort. On the 1800, you're ensconced in an armchair Cliquez pour agrandirwith a plethora of equipment: radio-CD, cruise-control, intercom, electric reverse, ABS, dual-CBS, storage compartments everywhere and 145 L of capacity divided between trunk and suitcases, heated handles, rear suspension adjustment on the dashboard... With options, the list is comparable to the Redoute catalog. On the GL's new face, we discover an array of headlamps, stunning in their efficiency. On the darkest country roads, the light output is worthy of the Stade de France.
The 1800 Goldwing certainly lifts the aura of its dynasty even higher. An accomplished tourer, superb, much more powerful and more efficient. It may be criticized for the lack of certain equipment, given its outrageous price, the absence of standard GPS, its disproportionate size... But let's not forget that this is an extraordinary machine, designed for maximum pleasure. A motorcycle for the royal court, set to conquer the world for at least 10 years to come.

the Gold has had a slight facelift since 2006: the rear trunk lights have been redesigned in light tuning sauce, but the real novelty is the appearance of a "comfort" package. More comfort with a heated seat, with rider and passenger having their own settings. The passenger is best off with a heated backrest and armrests. A new system can divert hot air to warm the rider's feet. The engine is even cleaner to meet Euro 3 standards, and an Airbag version has been available since 2007. In addition to its new colors, the 2010 version is no longer made in the USA, as has been the case for many years. The 1800 GL is now produced in Japan.

French Abel Model 2006
I've owned several Goldwings, 1100, 1200, 1500 and today an 1800. So to tell you a few thousand kms done with this machine. My 1800 currently has 110,000 kms and runs like clockwork. To tell the truth, every time I ride it, I take immense pleasure, even since 2009, when I bought it. Fuel consumption is 5.5 l/100 kms in normal driving and around 6.5 l/100 kms in heavier driving, all with supreme comfort. You can drive non-stop (except at red lights and stop signs) for almost 300kms, so it's ideal. Other points such as safety, braking, roadholding etc... . To try it is to adopt it Rating : 5/5

At 69, it's my 19th bike since I was 18 and my second Goldwing. Admittedly heavy when stationary, but a real bike as soon as you start. Good in every way, comfort, ride, protection, etc. I'm satisfied with it, but my health has got the better of me, and I'm going to have to part with it with regret! Sniff. It's a choice between a 2-wheeler and a 4-wheeler. Enjoy your bikes and be careful. Amitiés à tous et toutes Rating : 5/5

I've just bought myself a 2009 Goldwing 1800. I've always ridden a Goldwing, starting with the 1000 in 1978, then moving on to the 1100 in 1982, and continuing with several 1500s for about twenty years. Today I'm 64 years old, and I'm planning to live out my days with an 1800. A whole life in Gold, what happiness! Bonne route à tous !!! Rating : 5/5
I'm a fan of the Goldwing first a 1200 then the 1500 and now the queen 1800, I started at 65 with the 1200 never made a motorcycle before and no problem I regret one thing much too late mik Rating : 5/5
Hello, I am the proud owner of a 2008 1800 goldwing cab bought at 290000 kms in September 2012 and today it is approaching 351000 KMS. I remain convinced of the reliability of this machine that transports me all year round. Thank you Rating : 5/5

Hi, I just bought a 2010 HONDA Gold Wing motorcycle, "À black nebulousÀÂ" kind of black-grey metallic … 58000 km clean as a new one. I was a Harley-Davidson fan, and I fell in love with this bike at first sight, thinking I'd be riding a 2001 FHLT for several more years … what years did this gorgeous color sell for? I'd never seen one before mine… could it be that there are no speakers behind the rear seat grilles? When I put the "À FADERÀ " on rear, there is no sound …??? The previous owner having died, selling by inheritance, I can't ask him … was this an option???? If so, what to put besides the original ones? Why the 2 huge antennas on each side at the rear? CB and radio I guess…. Is there a place to put music CDs? It says CD on the controls, but I don't see a disc slot … odd for a 2010 model … why when I close the suitcases on each side, I have to press hard on the front of the cutlery to remove the "At suitcase door open" alert in the display screen???? Are the limit-switches badly adjusted or what? When I press on doors that are already closed, the signal corrects itself…but this can't be normal? When I press certain controls, like adjusting the suspension on the road, or certain GPS functions, and I forget … an error message appears at the top of the radio/gps screen … why?

Thank you very much for the information

I'm the proud owner of a 2008 1800 with full options, and I've found the pleasure of touring France, Corsica and Sardinia without ever regretting my purchase. It's true that I'm not objective, but I love my gold, and when you love ...
I'll only change if the new one (gold) gives me a bit more power

i've been riding a godwing for 3 years now. I'm on my 2nd gold. I really like this bike, but its only problem is when you're going around banked corners, where the footrest touches the ground, and that scares the hell out of you.... Rating : 5/5

I had the BMW K1200 LT old version, hard to handle, the new version 2006 better, fork improved, but I made the test of the 1800 Golwing, then there I fell in love, I quickly bought it, very handy, very well balanced, engine super, despite I had before electric keel and electric windshield too bad for that, but I am super satisfied with my Golwing 1800 Rating : 5/5
de la gl, je pratique depuis 15 ans...mais la ... too much...it's too complicated...closing the saddlebags is horological but not Swiss...in short, staying stranded with the saddlebags closed...a bit hard for 26,000 euros...you technocrats, stop the nonsense...12 years on a gl 1100 not a problem...less than six months on the gl 1800 nothing but trouble...enough is enough... A childhood dream comes true..
after several years of motorcycling, most recently on a 1989 Venture 1300, I switched as a child to a GL1800. The fulfillment of a hitherto unsatisfied desire. Finances played a big part (house, cars, children, etc.)
Now I've tasted it, I've searched and I've found it. A black 1800, all options, maybe even a little too many, magnificent. Heavy? maybe... But next to the Venture, there's not much difference
I'll never be able to stop praising its beauty, its harmonious lines, its suppleness and ferocity. Its felinity too. A complete motorcycle for those who love long rides and motorcycle vacations, and who aren't looking for the thrills of cornering and tire wear. Simply superlative in its class, and far more aesthetically pleasing than the BMWs
I wish the Golwinger and all those who aspire to become Golwingers a lot of fun.

This is my third Goldwing. The previous one, a GL1500, gave me a lot of pleasure. But with the current machine, it's gone up several notches. It's become a real pleasure. Acceleration, braking, roadholding and the ultimate pleasure, its exeptional behavior in curves.
The suspension is indeed rather stiff at low speeds, and transmits the unevenness of the road a little too much. But at high speed, I'd say it smoothes out the road very well. I'm currently riding the best touring bike in the world.

I've been a big-bike rider since 1998, and loyal to my HONDA LA ROCHELLE dealer. Since then, I've owned an 1100 (4 years old) and 1300 PAN, the 1st version (1 year 1/2), and an 1800 (since July 2004), and I was very happy with the latter for someone who didn't want one at all (as you can see...), and I've fallen for the 2006 version, which I've just received since 18/01. My only regret is that the radio equipment is incomplete, namely the rear speakers, which are supplied as an optional extra. As for the rest, there's nothing to complain about: it's the queen of easy-to-ride and easy-to-maneuver motorcycles, provided you've already had a large-displacement bike in your hands. What's regrettable is that it's not equipped with an electric windscreen, which I think would be a plus over the air bag that's going to be offered for 2007 Rating : 5/5

After a gl 1100 and a f6C, this gl 1800 2006 is really a must for comfort... and a bike to ride..
The only regret is the engine noise, which is nice from the outside but sounds more like a centrifuge than a v6 when you're on the handlebars...

I've been riding an 1800 for almost two years now. This bike is fantastic. I currently have 52,000 km. The pluses: comfort and the flat six
Minuses: the bent panniers and the top case, which doesn't open as well as on the 1500. The footrests rub when cornering (half of them are missing), as well as the side stand.
Next bike? Well, another Gold or ???

Great machine for rider and passenger
After several tens of thousands of KM in daily use, touring Europe, I still enjoy riding my big machine
Designed for long trips, it's equally at home in town and in the mountains
Of course, it's not light when stopped, and you'd better be big and strong to catch it in certain circumstances at low speed or when stopped
Bonne route

this summer I rode the golg 1800 12,000 km to norway cap nord from toulon(83).fantastic bike, incomparable to my previous BMWK1200LT (120000Km ridden).only downside is that the 1800 is too firm, and any imperfections in the road are very strongly felt.the front fork bangs at the slightest hole, and the rear passenger feels everything.too bad for a "comfort" bike.
