presentation of the CB 300 R 2018
It all happens in a corner of the city. A few roadsters have gathered, in secret, and are starting to provoke the CB 1000 R. The last one, the one taking Honda to the Neo Sport Café. The exchange is dry. As a result, the Honda knows it's going to have to make its mark on the neighborhood. Bringing out the growl? Not only that. A pair of offspring would help to show primacy. A CB 125 R will create a bit of a stir among young people. For the intermediate sector of "emerging cylinders", a clone would be more appropriate. The CB 300 R is a photocopy of its big brother. With a smaller engine but no less jarring design.
The city, the threat. The CB 300 R will find its preferred terrain there. There's no need for excessive horsepower and cubic capacity in the concrete fauna. Between streets and avenues, it will express its strong points. Its light weight makes it easy to slip in and out of, its eye-catching front end, and a dose of technology to make it stand out in this "in-between" category.
The CB 300 R's no-nonsense frame relies on a steel structure made of tubes and sophisticated components. The front end has more personality, with its 41 mm inverted fork, radial brake caliper and headlight, so simple yet so complex.
The mimicry with the 1000 continues. With each of its shapes, the CB "small-medium" does everything it can to blend in with the big one. Its optics, in turn, call out to us. Round, very classic, the interior takes style in the opposite direction, with a whole array of LEDs. The whole bike is a testament to Honda quality, meticulous finish and an identity far removed from the manga style that has invaded Japanese production over the past 10 years.
This roadster has a lot to show, a lot to communicate. By equipping itself with an IMU inertial unit to optimize braking, it takes a step ahead of its direct competitors and even those above it. The fully digital instrument panel clearly displays all the essentials. Speed, rpm bar graph, gear engaged, trip, temperature, clock, fuel gauge - it's all there.
Getting out of the mirrors and cruising along is the job of its mono. Although extracted from the CBR 300 R, its potential remains that of a pleasure motorcycle, or even a motorcycle of indulgence. Just over 30 hp and almost 3 mkg of power are on tap, so you can get away from it all, morning, evening and Sunday afternoon, on a bike that's a pleasure to ride. But a 300 is still a 300, and it and its rivals(MT-03, Hipster 300, G 310 R) will find it hard to break away from their role as a stopgap between two much more attractive displacement ranges. The CB 300 R relies on its distinctive silhouette to turn streetlights and eyeballs.

how much did a 400 bandit weigh ( because it's a 4 cylinder )??! 30 years ago !
There must be a way to lighten this ( heavy )CB Rating : 3/5 Respond to phil
i already have a harley but for 10km it's not great it's a bike that needs to be ridden
with its lightness and maneuverability, the honda 300cb is ideal for city riding and short trips, and it does a good job of helping out on highways at 80km. I wouldn't be too tempted to take it out on the highway, where we'll come up against the limits of a 300cc
Ideal motorcycle for beginners and for people who want to make short trips on their motorcycle all year round Rating : 4/5 Respond to cloclo
On the Honda website, the fully loaded weight is 143 kg, not the dry weight as you indicate.
Weighing verified by one of your colleagues at 144.8 kg.
Low-displacement motorcycles between 125 and 500 are already a rarity, but a new lightweight "basique" (neither sporty nor T.T.) is a rarity, and for some it's an important criterion, as a machine of this size is so much more pleasant in everyday use.
- V-Strom 250: 188 kg, i.e. 45 kg less than the CB. Okay, it's a trail bike, but it's almost the weight of a passenger u_u
- Gsx-r 250: 183 kg not bad for a sport bike
- Versys 300: 175 kg
- MT O3: 168 kg
In comparison:
The Triumph street triple weighs 186 TPF and the MT 07 2019 : 182 kg TPF d'\'après Yam\' )
Here we have a 300 with a 37 kg difference over one of the lightest bikes on the market (the MT 07). I could consider buying it, telling myself that it has at least this advantage, the others are just unthinkable for me, whereas I have no need for the power of the MT 07, which in addition to its lightness is probably one of the best bikes on the market today.
So I could have, even should have, chosen the Yam! Even if it was by default. But in reality, it's unusable on roads, which have become a Tantalus' torture, between traffic, artificial obstacles and radars, which makes for a nice combo o/ Rating : 3/5 Respond to Pum

It's sad that Honda hasn't understood that there's a demand for small-displacement retro bikes.
How can I explain it to them? Rating : 1/5 Respond to retro
prefer it to the BM 300. it's very light with very supple suspension. i wouldn't sell my yam mt-03 for it, but in terms of
i wouldn't sell my Yam MT-03 for it, but in terms of maintenance budget, it's well placed, with service intervals of every 12,000 km (5,000 for the Yam MT-03). Rating : 5/5 Respond to tonin
Very friendly "Bécanne", for short trips.
Good power-to-weight ratio, reasonable top speed.
