Motorcycle specifications HondaCBR 1000 F 2000 Travel companion

Sport touring

The CBR 1000 F opened up new horizons of fast travel. Although its fairing wasn't to everyone's liking when it first came out, the full cladding gave the bike a certain class as well as a distinctive style. Technologically, it introduced the CBS braking system, which couples front and rear calipers, bringing real efficiency. Although CBR is more synonymous with sport in the motorcycle world, the 1000 is above all an efficient sport-GT, a niche to which it has made a major contribution. The machine has been designed to go far, fast and long, as evidenced by the remarkable build quality and assembly of its components. There's plenty of comfort, the suspension is supple, the passenger is made to feel welcome, and the saddle makes you feel at home. The CBR's biggest flaw is that it's too tame: the engine is powerful but lacks depth, like a dish lacking salt and pepper. Despite the overall balance, the weight commands respect, favoring a smooth, winding ride. Clearly, it's better to ride than to play! Yet it's easy to handle, holds the floor very well, and could easily be compared to the 800 VFR, so similar is its performance. It's less sporty, more torquey and more affordable.

Bikers' reviews (9)

Wonderful bike bought in 2000, today 120000km serviced by honda and in like new condition..many times I've wanted to sell it, I still have it on the freeway, it runs very hard and for a long time without tiring..a bike that's a bit heavy but it goes down in history as an exceptional machine.i've been riding it for 20 years now, these last few years a little less...when I look at it in the garage, I say to myself, you've earned the right to keep it forever, because it's taken me all over Europe to see a lot of grand prix moto GP...never an accident, never a breakdown...mrrc HONDA Rating : 5/5

Reliable, homogeneous machine, not a permit trap, for long-distance driving;
The machine will do 150,000 kms, if properly maintained and driven.
Serious, rigorous Honda design by one of the world's leading engine manufacturers.
