Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow 2000 - Motorcycle specifications

presentation of the VT 1100 C2 Shadow 2000

with its large v-twin engine exceeding one liter in displacement, the 1100 Shadow delivers torque in spades. Manufactured in the USA, this big Japanese custom rides in Harley territory, but with its own techniques. Its styling is similar to that of the Milwaukee Dynas, but in technical terms, the American and Japanese twins are far from similar. Honda's 45° twin-cylinder engine has 3 valves per cylinder, liquid cooling and a few fins for style. Its 50 hp aren't there to chase the clock; what interests us is the torque, whose maximum of 9 mkg is reached at just 2,500 rpm.
Pretty but serious, less rocking than an H-D, the Shadow C2 can count on a much more affordable price. For fans of vintage styling, the 1100 Shadow is also available in a C3 version, straight out of the 1930s.

I've just reassembled a 1999 C3. It was mounted as a bobber, and it didn't suit me at all. I reassembled it from the factory, bought the Honda workshop manual, replaced the handlebars, had the tank, mudguards and side covers repainted...then I needed a can of Belgom to make the chrome shine, and now it's all beautiful! yes because I own one that I bought a few months ago 27000 KM having had one in 1995 I already knew the model after 40 years of faithfulness in harley I was forced for health reasons to switch back to a lighter motorcycle and after some time I took the shadow 1100 us I did 2146 km Round trip to pick it up in the north of France and I don't regret it I'm very happy with it I gave it a general overhaul changed the clutch discs and it's running great when I see the selling prices of this model especially in the US it's worth keeping I know my heirs will make a profit slut du 13 BdR 01/19/2024 11:09 Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

It is possible to install a gauge but you need a good level of DIY..

personally, I have a 750 C2 from 2001, it's almost the same. I rely on my trip1, which I can reset to 0 each time I fill up, and it's fine. What's more, if it's in reserve, you've got plenty of room to fill up (I rode it 60km once I got to the station). A good, reliable bike with a modern gimbal, since the engine is liquid-cooled and the footpegs are high enough to tilt and drop all Harleys at every turn! Just so you know, I fitted hyperpro springs and changed the viscosity of the fork oil (thicker). Don't forget to fit avia hoses if you're riding "without wasting time" on twisty roads.

Monsieur Alex drop off all the Harleys....there's a man with a sense of humor. You also have the Harley couple, bravo you must be the only one to believe. I've got a 1690 stage 1, you know, the kind of machine that hangs around on the road...and it's true when I take my 1100 c2 Shadow, I enjoy seeing the scenery, although sometimes it's a bit top-heavy .....but for the price, it's a top bike! impeccable roadholding, agile, easy to handle, I was worried about the 2 rear shocks compared to my Volusia, which had a pro link!
in my humble opinion, it dampens just as well.
Engine full of torque and life!
i'll be cruising the roads of Alsace and elsewhere this summer!

a 1996 VT 1100 c2 ACE with 95 original km.
In other words, it's brand-new and has been completely overhauled by a Honda dealer.

after a 2003 Suzuki Volusia VL 800 bought second-hand in 2014 with 12700 km;
with which I've covered 11500 km in just over a year, I'm very pleasantly surprised,
smoothness, stability, ease on the road and in town, torque, and icing on the cake smoothness of the gearbox, legendary at Honda, I've had several over time!
i'm happy!

I think the 2000 is fine, but I own a 1995 model and it's a marvel. That torque, that noise, people love to look at it and are pleasantly surprised to see that it's not HD.
Just goes to show that its name hides its game.

Admittedly, this is my first motorcycle. But it's really easy to get the hang of. Even with its weight, it's very easy to handle.
Of course, you can't expect to break any speed records, as it starts to vibrate after a certain speed (still well above the limits).
But what a pleasure it is to feel it go again with its impressive torque when you step on the throttle.

I think there are several brands of panniers for this VT1100. The best is to ask a motorcycle equipment supplier (motoblouz, maxxess, dafy moto ...).

These reliable bikes have the same engine with a few variations.the VTC2 model offers a very good riding position, lower torque and better range than its predecessor.it's a very good bike with Honda finish and quality.
