presentation of the 450 FS 2026
This is Husqvarna at its supermotard best. The 450 FS is built for performance. The latest-generation, highly innovative chassis houses the most powerful Husqvarna 450 motocross engine ever developed. The 450 cc's 63 hp, single overhead camshaft engine has been completely redesigned; it is now smaller and lighter, and has been completely reconfigured to center the masses in the new chromoly steel frame. The new bodywork enhances the rider's experience with sophisticated ergonomics designed to boost confidence, ensure total control and reduce fatigue.
new engine
the new SOHC engine is 23 mm shorter, 23 mm narrower and 9 mm lower than the previous generation. Every internal component has been modified and repositioned, resulting in an impressive 1.8 kg reduction for a total weight of 27.8 kg, 63 HP more power and improved torque across the rev range. Mass centering was a key specification criterion, which led chassis designers to position the engine closer to the center of gravity, thus greatly improving maneuverability. Vibrations are reduced to a minimum thanks to a multifunction balancer shaft that also drives the water pump and timing chain.
new crankshaft
the new crankshaft has a 10% higher inertia, and has been repositioned 9 mm further back and 7 mm higher. The higher inertia improves driveability and ease of piloting, and the new position in the engine contributes to mass refocusing. The smooth connecting-rod head bearing bush and two press-fitted bearing shells ensure maximum reliability and durability, as well as long 100-hour service intervals.
new gearbox
the lighter, more compact five-speed gearboxis 8 mm narrower and 350 g lighter than the previous generation. The new surface treatment on the 1st and 5th gears improves reliability and, complemented by a low-friction coating on the selector fork and a new shift fork, ensures smooth, precise shifting. The selector has been modified to prevent dust accumulation. An advanced gear sensor allows specific engine mapping for each gear.
aPTC anti-dribble clutch
the APTC (Adler Power Torque Control) anti-dribble clutch keeps the rear wheel stable by preventing it from bouncing aroundthe rear wheel from bouncing back during heavy braking before the chord point of a corner, ensuring optimum control and ideal glide in supermotard riding.
new frame
drawing on their long experience with the most advanced steel frames for off-road use, our R&D engineers have designed a new steel frame for supermotard use.velopment department have designed a completely new, structurally modified chromium-molybdenum steel frame to improve manoeuvrability, ergonomics and overall structure. Torsional and longitudinal stiffness have been completely redesigned. Compared to the previous-generation frame, the steel tubes are 6 mm wider and 2 mm lower, with 20% more torsional rigidity and 30% less longitudinal rigidity. These features, which complement the new motor mount, improve manoeuvring precision, shock absorption and feel.
carbon fiber rear frame
the use of carbon fiber reduces weight, promotes good weight distribution and brings weight closer to the center of gravity, improving maneuverability. Carbon fiber accounts for 30% of materials, and the three-piece unit weighs 1.4 kg less than the previous rear section. being shorter, it's also more compact, which greatly improves ergonomics.
new CNC-machined fork crowns
the CNC-machined, black-anodized fork crowns feature a new top mountthis reduces vibration and improves comfort. The fork tees have been carefully designed to evenly distribute the clamping force on the fork leg, maximizing the contact area for optimum sensitivity and minimal friction. Handlebar position adjustment options have been retained for the AM 16.
magura hydraulic clutch
the FC 450 now features a new Magura hydraulic clutch system. The high-quality clutch system, manufactured in Germany, guarantees even wear, virtually no maintenance and perfect modulation in all conditions. This means that backlash is constantly compensated for, and the pressure point and clutch operation remain the same in hot or cold weather, and over long periods of time.
completely redesigned cladding
the distinctive, futuristic bodywork underlines the impressive performance leap of the AM 16 motocross range, while striking blue pearl and electric yellow colors and graphics elegantly enhance the modern design. Ergonomics have been completely revised to improve control and comfort, and enable riders to get the most out of their machine for even longer. A low seat height, new padding and a new grippy cover ensure high levels of comfort and control in all conditions.
wP Suspension
wP Suspension is of exceptional quality and offers the highest levels of performance. Precise design, quality materials and advanced production processes are the strengths of the WP forks on the Husqvarna FS 450.The 48 mm closed-cartridge front fork, combined with black CNC-machined fork tees, offers exceptional front-end feel and control, thanks to a precise and smooth damping system. The suspension's 280 mm travel, supermoto-specific settings and full rebound and compression adjustment functions enable the rider to take full advantage of the chassis' agility and adapt the grip to his own riding style and track conditions. WP's high-performance rear shock absorber has been specially designed for supermotos. The shock absorber is fully adjustable for rebound and compression at high/low speeds, guaranteeing outstanding stability and damping thanks to the rear suspension's impressive travel (266 mm).
brakes
brembo brakes, featuring a 4-piston radial-mount caliper and pump combined with a 310 mm front disc, give the bike exceptional stopping power. The rear is equipped with a single-piston caliper and 220 mm disc. Ideally positioned controls ensure perfect braking feel and proportioning in extreme situations.
wheels and tires
alpina's black 16.5"/17" spoked wheels (front and rear) are renowned for their lightness and strength. They are combined with Bridgestone 125/80 R420 and 165/65 R420 slick tires for maximum grip, traction and agility.
mapping selector and start-up control
the MY16 Supermoto comes standard with a power curve change button on the handlebars. This now also activates start-up control. When the engine is at idle, start-up control is engaged by switching once from the selected map to the alternative map, and then the other way round. When the fuel injection LED flashes, starting control is engaged. This function limits power to the rear wheel for around two seconds, improving traction and preventing loss of control during sudden acceleration.
new engine management system
the new Keihin engine management system is smaller, lighter and processes data faster. It incorporates a control for perfect starting and engine mapping selectable via the handlebar switch. Thanks to the new gear sensor, power delivery can be adapted for each gear. Engine maps can be customized to suit rider preferences with the optional Husqvarna accessory kit.
new 44 mm throttle body
at 44 mm, the throttle body diameter remains the same as that of the previous model year.however, the injector has been repositioned to optimize flow into the combustion chamber. By eliminating the throttle response linkage and mounting the throttle cables directly, the overall weight of the throttle body has been reduced by 100g, while ensuring more immediate response and feel during acceleration.
new electric starter and Li-ion battery
the new electric starter system, standard on 4-stroke models, is 150 g lighter and more efficient; combined with the new compact Li-ion battery, it saves around 1 kg in overall weight. The wiring harness has been optimized so that the rear section of the rear frame can be removed without having to move any cables.
