presentation of the GV 125 X 2025

Hyosung is certainly one of the most low-key brands in the industry. Its sales are fairly modest and don’t reflect the significant volume the company once enjoyed. But the Korean manufacturer isn’t wallowing in self-pity and is determined to make a comeback. This GV 125 X custom bike is the perfect example: modern, aggressive, and striking! A real badass that’s sure to surprise more than a few people.

Its style makes an immediate impact

Even when stationary, it’s already a sight to behold. Meticulously crafted and lavishly adorned with stylistic touches, the Hyosung GV 125 X not only looks the part but also resembles a large-displacement bike far more than a modest 125. Check out that menacing inverted fork, the custom-style metal front fender mounts, the handlebar-mounted mirrors, the turbine-intake-style engine guard, the embossed seat with red stitching, the prominently displayed engine, the perfectly exposed U-shaped taillight, the truncated rear end, and the beveled exhausts. It’s a real showstopper! So much so that you’d almost forget about the engine’s size.

It proudly bears the “Grand Voyage” stamp—a slogan found in several places on the bike. And one that’s sure to bring a wry smile to our faces. A “grand voyage” for a 125cc custom bike that’s so compact and distinctive?!? Someone at Hyosung must have had a few too many Andong Soju……
The GV 125 X relies on a small twin-cylinder engine for its performance. It’s a 60° V-twin with a single overhead camshaft but three valves per cylinder. Its 14 chevaux and modest torque of 10.2 Nm are sent to the (large) rear wheel via a belt—a feature common in the custom category but very rare at this displacement level.

Modern Vibe

Inside the cockpit, the design blends several styles, with an instrument panel (reminiscent of that on the older Kawa ER-6n) combining analog and digital displays. The upper section features a needle for the tachometer, while an LCD display below shows information. A USB port is also included, along with full LED lighting.
Hyosung hasn’t fallen into the trap of installing traction control on a bike of this power class.

The price is in line with the bike’s presence. This GV 125 X has “character,” as they say. But it’s also on the heavy side. A hefty weight: 172 kg—that’s substantial for a 125. It’s enough to really put that little engine to work, and it’ll often require you to cruise and avoid pushing it too hard.
