presentation of the Ninja ZX-4RR 400 40ème Anniversaire 2024
it screams! The joy of hearing a 4-cylinder rip its guts out to transcend itself. With the ZX-4RR, you don't even need 200 horsepower to experience the thrill and hysteria. Just 80 grunts, 4 cylinders of 99.7 cm3 each... That doesn't stop it from clocking over 245 km/h on the speedometer, with 14,500 rpm of vocals... And 40 years of Ninja history in the rear-view mirror.
Because, yes, the ZX-4RR is part of the official selection of models celebrating four decades of Kawasaki sports bikes. Along with the ZX-10R and ZX-6R, our three protagonists stand out with a commemorative badge on the tank and, above all, a vintage deco with green, white and blue stripes.
the affiliation with the 1989 ZXR 750 is obvious, Kawa having chosen this deco in memory of the official ZXR-7's many victories in the '90s. But you don't need to go into the realms of world competition to find direct genetics: the ZXR 400' s distant ancestor already wore the same outfit. Even though they're 30 years apart, these 400 cm3 sportsbikes have naturally passed on the clothes of yesteryear.
The iconic touch? The green-painted rims and silver chassis!
A comparison of these two bikes shows not only how important designers have become in the design departments, but also how much progress has been made. From the ZXR to the ZX-4R, the mill sends out 1,500 rpm and 20% more power; fuel injection has replaced carburetors, and the electronics have nothing in common: ignition box on the 90s model - color TFT screen, four riding modes, traction control, ABS, shifter, USB socket and Bluetooth module for the latest model.
When it comes to revs, the old model laughs, weighing in at 15 kilos less. The new one makes up for it with pollution and fuel consumption on a different scale.

we can't stop talking about the ZXR. But we need to refocus the debate on the 40th anniversary. They bring us not to the Stinger, but to the GPZ 900 R. This was the first Ninja. A bomb for its time, combining the best of a 750 and an 1100. The first motorcycle to drop below 2 kg per horse. A symbol of an era, when beating the Paris-Marseille TGV with this bike was a hot topic (in a good way) for Moto-Revue readers.

It's top-notch in every way.
it's been 15 years since I've been on a machine, and a real bike at that. I'm like a kid with a toy at Christmas. It provides sensations worthy of its big sisters, and quite enough for a modest biker like me. Extraordinary !!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Mika
