presentation of the 500 Eliminator SE 2024
The name alone is frightening. By reviving the "Eliminator" name, Kawasaki is strengthening its (small) custom range with a shady machine with a meaner style than its Vulcan cousin. But is it also meaner on the road? Well, not exactly. Kawasaki has come up with a machine to give a different kind of audience a run for their money: the face is meaner, but the engine is less powerful. With its 451 cm3, 45 hp engine and big difference in price, the Eliminator is aimed at A2 licence holders and intends to take on the Honda 500 Rebel.
It is available in two versions, standard and SE. It's the latter that interests us here. In exchange for a few extra bucks, the Special Edition gets a leather saddle with stitching, a USB-C socket added to the handlebars (with a basic integration), fork gussets and a mini fork head.
The 500 Eliminator SE also boasts an exclusive color scheme. It's dressed in black, while the standard is... also black - from "Metallic Flat Spark Black" to "Metallic Matte Carbon Gray / Flat Ebony". And there's a guy who gets paid for it at Kawasaki Japan ????
Whatever the version, the Kawa custom looks like a simple, fun machine with a "face", simplicity and a nice engine for cruising in fun without looking for violence. The instrumentation is minimalist (as it should be in a custom) without being stingy, and features Bluetooth for pairing a smartphone. So you can keep it in your pocket... and forget about it, because it's the handlebars that do the talking ;-).
