presentation of the VN 900 Classic 2009

for some time now, Japanese custom bikes have been synonymous with an avalanche of cm3. VTX 1800, 1670 road star warrior or VN 2000, what mattered was to have a huge twin. With the biggest twin-cylinder on the market, Kawasaki doesn't continue the arms race and turns its attention to the medium-displacement segment, presenting the VN 900. Inspired by the VN 1600 and 2000, this mid-range custom bike will enable you to buy a nice machine without breaking the bank. The styling is elegant, the chromework well represented, and while its almost one-liter twin won't offer the colossal thrust of its big brothers, it should distill enough torque and thrills to please - a nice ride with those big, wide handlebars combined with that "macho" face should delight many a rider.

French seb32 Model 2010
I adopted this bike 6 months ago, and I'm now at around 5000km on it in A2 trim at 34hp (it's my first "big cube" after 20 years on a 125
Even in these conditions, it's far from being a calf, with a very nice torque that allows you to cross a village at 50km/h while staying in 5th gear

I've also done 1600km of freeway at 130km/h in this configuration. It doesn't go much higher (140/150 is its limit on the flat) but remains comfortable and safe in these conditions

I rubbed it 4 times on bends. It's a bit surprising and I'm careful to lean less now

Where I got "scared" was when I parked on the downhill side, and had to back up to start again... 300kg of arm strength is very, very, very heavy and a pain in the ass... So now I try to anticipate these risks

As far as fuel consumption is concerned, I check the meter and the volume of fuel every time, so I can testify that consumption varies between 4.2 and 5.8l/100 km, with an average of 5.16. I do my 100kg fully-equipped and sometimes ride in a duo. Of course, it's on freeways that I reach 5.8, but by no means 7l/100 as I read on another site

So it's still a thrifty bike for everyday use, with a minimum range of 300km. I've already pushed it up to 327km on reserve, but not broken down at all. The reserve seems to allow between 50 and 80km depending on current consumption

I warmly recommend it to beginners, but beware: you need to be able to hold this weight at very low speeds. Once you've passed 20 or 30 mph, it's a bike

As long as you get it right, it steers very well, with the handlebars in the stop position

I enjoy every ride, and now only take the wheelbox when I have bulky items or more than one passenger

I've fitted it with a windscreen that does the job, two small cases with light reminders, a large Shade 58x modular top case and, the icing on the cake, heated grips that give me the luxury of riding in summer gloves even at 4 or 5°C.

Excellent bike, only it lacks a gear for freeway riding...I had a 2000 Vulcan 1500 Classic, which I bought new, but I have a problem with a tendon in my left shoulder and found the bike a bit heavy, so I sold it and bought a 2006 Vulcan 900 Classic, and I find it very easy to handle and economical.i bought a Baron front gear with 34 teeth to gain rpm and save fuel...it's worth the effort...Bonne route! After 15 years of motorcycle driving, I decided to buy a big cube. I stumbled across an ad from a professional for a VN 900 special series 2012. Love at first sight. Since then, I've used it on short trips (< 30 km) and it's been nothing but bliss: very comfortable, good riding position, torquey, easy to handle (I still have to get used to it at very low speeds, as it still weighs 3 quintals). The brake lacks a little bite, but that's the only criticism I can make. I highly recommend it. Rating : 5/5

This is my first bike. Previously I had a 1000CBF Honda. Nothing to see. I'm very happy with this bike, which I bought at the beginning of May. I've already clocked up over 2,000 km and fitted it with a few accessories that really enhance the look. My only regret is that there isn't much in the Kawa tuning catalog to customize it. Hello, owner of a VN900 classic (white and grey, little chrome, the retro model par excellence). 12,000 kms in two years. Plus points: looks, engine noise, incredible range (over 300 kms), pleasant acceleration, reliability. On the minus side, the comfort saddle is a must if you're doing over 300 kms, and over 500, you just pray you'll see the finish line, which I think is normal for this kind of bike. Ideal highway speed is around 110. Any higher and it vibrates hard. In short, a perfect bike for rides of less than 300 kms. After that, it's a question of coxys;) Rating : 3/5

I drive it in Thailand on roads that are not as good as in Europe and where traffic is heavier, but I find it extremely manoeuvrable and comfortable, especially for two people Rating : 4/5

For several weeks, I scoured all the brands in my region in search of a custom motorcycle, and when I spotted this superb KAWA 900 VN in the gallery of a Kawa dealer, I was hooked. I immediately tried it out as a duo and placed an order, ten days later, I was the happiest of bikers, lacking nothing: the loock, power even in a duo, smooth acceleration, comfort, braking, economy, very quick handling, roadholding, everything is there, with pleasure to boot, in short the MUST of all custom bikes, bon route à tous. This vn 900 is formidable, allowing you to discover the pleasure of cruising with total confidence, as I tried it out at EVERSET in Grenoble (a very successful new kawa dealership with a very warm welcome)
I highly recommend it for CUSTOM enthusiasts
enthusiasts (who don't necessarily have the means to ride a Harley), because Kawasaki's QUALITY is there for a sensible price..

This VN 900 is superb, if it's not too expensive, I'll be ordering it in April 2006

I obtained additional information by calling Kawa. The weight would be 254kg, the tank 2ol and the rear tire 180, contrary to the indications on the Kawa France site. I think they will rectify this
I have placed an order.

I saw it at the Paris Motor Show (10/2005), and the differences with the VN 800 are obvious. A test ride would be welcome, the whole thing is really homogeneous for our regions, as I often do, I'm eagerly awaiting an opinion on the quality of the seat for a duo on a 500 km trip, a major flaw in this type of bike. When will you be able to test....complete with possible options and prices? Bonne route . Rating : 5/5
French Rhalbaul Model 2006
For once, a manufacturer has tried to erase the shortcomings of an existing model. In this case, the chain has been removed, braking has been improved (rear disc), seat comfort has been enhanced and, as a bonus, carburetion and flexibility (fuel injection) have been improved. The VN 800 was an excellent motorcycle, and now, without the major flaws, we should be on the verge of perfection... if the price remains reasonable.I'm ready to place an order. Rating : 5/5

Same intention as volusia: sell my dragstar 650 to buy the VN900. I don't know where FILOBEDOE found the weight of the NV900. It's not given in the specifications on the KAWA website. Rating : 5/5

hi everyone, I think it's great and I'm a custom fan, I'm waiting for the beginning of the year to place an order, it will be available in APRIL, the time for me to sell mine

French LeBaron Model 2006
Magnificent, extraordinary, considering what I've already read about it on various sites, it seems that a majority rejects this model, so I say "thank you Mr. Kawa for making it for me"
I'd settled on a Honda 750 Shadow, but a few details didn't sit too well with me. They'd solved the transmission problem by fitting a cardan shaft, but a few points were, in my opinion, still detrimental to the aesthetics, such as the two-in-one pot for example...
It was love at first sight, and I put my purchase on hold. Bravo, Mr Kawa, you've got your first customer, and if you also offer us the accessories available for the "big" VNs, then I'll become an undisputed fan of this model
In fact, I already am, with my computer screen background and repeated visits to all the sites displaying the VN 900, I can even imagine it with a small fork head and two panniers, and roll the old one, it looks like a Harley, with Japanese quality..... Thank you Mr. Kawa.
