presentation of the VN 1500 TOURER 2001
Don't be surprised to find a resemblance. The design of the 1500 Tourer draws its inspiration from a canon of the genre: the Harley-Davidson Road King. Its base is none other than the VN 1500 Classic, transformed into a long-distance custom thanks to a host of accessories. A large windscreen backed up by small deflectors, attractive, rigid, lockable cases, more comfortable suspension, chunky bumpers, a dashboard embedded in the fuel tank, a cushy seat and ergonomically designed handlebars - all these features make the road a very pleasant place to be. Beautiful to look at, beautiful to ride: that's its motto. And you can't expect it to be a hardcore cruiser. The twin isn't a thunderbolt, and the mass it has to carry isn't as light as a roadster (far from it). With its limited ground clearance (like many custom bikes), it rubs quickly and you don't feel like riding sporty. The Tourer offers comfort and scenery in 16/9ths. The handling is sound, the brakes efficient, the equipment has forgotten to be skimpy, and the comfort is enough to convince you to enjoy the road in a bucolic way.
Models since 2000 are equipped with electronic fuel injection. A plus for the environment and fuel consumption.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 4 reviews
The gearbox is as smooth as my future-ex VN800, the drive shaft makes you forget about it, and so does the weight, but as soon as you start driving. The tractor torque is great, the front gumshoe is monstrous, but it feels like riding a bike..
On the other hand, fuel consumption seems phenomenal for the carburetor model: 10L/100km -sic-. Rating : 5/5 Respond to mad_fox_3
2 criticisms for 1 otherwise formidable machine and 1 hell of a look
By the way, would it be silly to replace the original fuel tank with that of the 1600 ...., which would provide the 3 or 4 liters missing from this gourmet... Rating : 5/5 Respond to xav
